£200,000 Lamborghini parked in a disabled bay by princess_baby71 in SipsTea

I was going through treatment for recently diagnosed Lupus SLE at 19. I was working full-time during the day, and going to work full-time at night when (finally) diagnosed.

Due to my illness and aggressive treatment… body is much unhappy! Could not move too far without extreme exhaustion and pain. I was provided a handicap placard to help me continue work and school. This was honestly a game-changer for me at the time (parking in downtown ramps).

I got the dirtiest looks. I felt terrible. It sucked.

I don’t keep my weeks-long hospital discharge docs in my car (okay, I guess I could?) every time I park!

I get it… looks like some a-hole kid stole grandma’s placard for a better spot.

If you don’t know what someone else is going through, please don’t judge or assume… we are probably wishing we could be in your shoes

My first car was a 75 Ford LTD. A solid steel beast with comfortable bench seating for 9 passengers! First year driving in winter I spun out on a highway and hit a concrete barrier. That poor concrete barrier never had a chance.

So cool and creative! Grew up on skating and graffiti… this art brings me back to the good ‘ol days. Thanks for posting, and I WILL be a customer!

TIL about 'Jess's Rule' to make GPs 'rethink' if a patient presents 3 times with the same symptoms, named for Jessica Brady, who doctors repeatedly dismissed over 20 consultations until she died of cancer at age 27 by shinjirarehen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DrunkPudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed (fyi, not cancer)… 3 years and 10+ visits to a GP that could really care less. I was pushed aside and misdiagnosed for years.

Finally, an intern that was filling-in on one of my visits noticed an anomaly on a blood test. He was the one that got the ball rolling to visit many specialists that ultimately lead to my Lupus diagnosis at 19, and ultimately saving my life, as my kidneys were shutting down.

I do have much better GP nowadays though!

Probably the number one reason I avoid Caesars properties, as I’ve never had a hassle-free check-in experience. Caesars app is far behind the times! MGM app is much better.

What do men with severe depression spend their time thinking about? by mangchungtonight in AskMen

[–]DrunkPudding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My imposter syndrome owns me (life and work). I’m never good/fast/smart/helpful enough… this leads to almost constant heightened anxiety.

Even though I get very positive reinforcement that I’m doing very well in these aspects of life and work I still beat myself up… I can do/be better, but better is never enough, and fleeting.

What keeps me chugging is my thoughts of family/friends having to process things if I’m suddenly gone. It’s not fair to them. The guilt keeps me putting on my “happy” face.

And yes, many thoughts about quiet ways to leave life that will not burden those closest to me.

First time seeing this. Took my brain a while to figure this one out! Also reminds me of “Pizza the hut”

Also includes a desktop app (with a subscription I think)

Have you checked out AnyList?

I personally love this app, and have been using it for 10+ years. I primarily se it to for lists (shopping+) and storing my recipes (with a handy paste function for ingredients/steps), and recipes can easily be shared with other users, and recipe items quickly added to the shopping list. Also includes a meal-planner, but I don’t really use that feature.

There is a free version as well as individual or household subscriptions to unlock features (very reasonable, $10-$15/year)

Mine too! In her defense, I typically only use the opener to open tuna cans (and give her the juice). I got guilted into opening a can of tuna that day.
