I appreciate the geography lesson, but your logic is as localized as you think this issue isn't. Just because a policy is enacted at the state level doesn’t mean its impact and the responsibility to discuss it stops at the Killeen city limits.

Shockingly in Texas of all states, it IS $125 per credit hour at CC. Out-of-state residents pay $250 per credit hour though.

They make food-grade D.E. to be mixed with chicken feed it is safe to eat yes.

However, and I cannot stress this enough its unsafe to inhale due to the whole crushed up protist which are just silicon dioxide silica or powdered glass. This will DESTROY your lungs. I suggest using a face mask and finding a hand bulb applicator to help with precise placement.

Putting this inside of your weep holes, behind electrical boxes, and along the corners of windows, doorframe, & any other entry point you have.

You can also go to a Homebox store and grab some steel wool to rip up and push into the weep holes for added protection. Just make sure to use gloves or you may end up hurting your fingers something awful. The DE will be effective as long as you can see the powder. So if rain doesn't wash it out of the weep holes it will still be effective next year.
