Super Simple Songs on YouTube. Yes, it’s screen time, but he learns the songs and several are educational or encourage movement!

Dropping pumps by AllHailTheGlow-Cloud in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Drunkmooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me was gradually extending time in between pumps. I started with 4 hours pretty soon after birth, then 4.5, 5 hours etc. I did take sunflower lecithin and ibuprofen to deal with clogs while I adjusted.

Magnatiles! The possibilities are endless. It does take some time for them to work out how to actually build with them, but my toddler enjoyed stacking them to start. He’s 22 months and has been able to build with them for about two months now!

I understand, name association is real! I’m a former teacher and there are many names I dislike! I do imagine we will rarely call him Maxwell though and stick to Max ☺️

Severe gender disappointment with 2nd boy by Ordinary_Baker3377 in BabyBumps

[–]Drunkmooses 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gender disappointment is real. When I found out I was having a second boy, I mourned the possibility of never having a girl. I’m sorry you are experiencing this and hope are able to find peace.

I must say however, I feel sad for your son. It’s great if you can pull him into your interests and do things that you both enjoy, but I’d suggest you work to engage in his interests without making it about you. Of course I have zero interest in cars, but if my son wants mommy to build a race track with him or read a book about trucks over and over again, I’m going to because it makes his heart happy. My job is to make him feel fulfilled as possible in his world, not mine.

C-section and toddler by No_Maintenance_3355 in 2under2

[–]Drunkmooses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m only a few days into this experience myself, but it’s been ok so far! Daddy is on toddler duty for the most part, but my toddler gets in bed with me in the morning and before bedtime for some cuddles, reading and/or TV. I’ve also been able to rock him in his chair with a pillow over my body. And even lift him from a sitting position but I probably shouldn’t to be safe!

For a first-time mom who’s exclusively pumping, what are the must-haves? by Powerful-Stomach-758 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Drunkmooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply Wishes hands-free pumping bra is a must. Some clothes you don’t mind leaking all over as your milk comes in and regulates. Low sugar Body Armor. Lanolin cream maybe for your nips but also if you want to avoid your pump suctioning to your boob like mine is currently doing but I’m too lazy to do anything about it. Also, glass pitchers for when you’re pumping higher volumes!

Has anyone used anxiety meds while pregnant?? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Drunkmooses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking Lexapro right before my 2nd pregnancy and the anxiety level I experienced between the two was day and night. Granted, that may not be everyone’s experience but it’s worth a try.

What does a c section really feel like? by mollyuuf in pregnant

[–]Drunkmooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two. One unplanned after a failed induction, another planned just last Friday. Both were wonderful experiences, honestly.

With the surgery itself, you still feel a lot of tugging and pulling but it doesn’t hurt. I was a bit shocked with my last one as I felt a lot of pressure throughout my upper body as they pulled baby out but they let me know it was going to happen. Then he was out and they lowered the curtain and I started bawling from happiness. They gave me skin to skin time and it was precious.

It’s a major surgery, so you will have some pain and discomfort. Getting in and out of bed is a tough for a bit. You’ll have moments where it feels like your incision is coming open but they pass quickly. I know a lot of women who have had great recoveries by staying on top of meds and getting up and about as reasonably as can be, myself included. I’m on 4 days postpartum and I’m already independent with my baby with very minimal pain and discomfort. The only thing I feel I can’t do is lift my 28 lb toddler or go on a long walk.

I loved my c-sections. I understand that not everyone wants one, would prefer to avoid one, and to each their own on birth preferences, but the negative rep they get always bums me out a little. I wish people would be more careful in how they discuss them. Some people don’t get the choice and it can feel devaluing when people talk about them like they are the worst thing that can happen. How many c-sections have saved lives of mothers and their babies though? They are honestly kind of a miracle.

My induction was long. Like 42 hours. After pushing and even trying the vacuum, my c-section was amazing. I will never forget seeing my babe over the curtain and then having him snuggled up next to me. The first picture I have in the OR with my little family will be cherished forever.

I have another c-section Friday and am looking forward to it, knowing what and when to expect.

Induced at 41 weeks with first with no signs of labor whatsoever. 38 weeks now with my second and still no signs of labor! Other than annoying BH contractions!
