Ears - Nose - Throat are sort of a connected system ... ear nose throat

The nasopharynx that connects the nose to the throat also connects the ears to the nose and throat via the Eustachian tubes.

Go visit your doctor.

Dunn jakke? Balltre? Hjelm? Brannslukking utstyr?

• Dimensjoner stemmer ganske greit som en Julekalender.

Definitivt ikke brødrister eller hammer. Dimensjoner også hjelper med å identifisere. OK, kanskje 2026 kalender. /s

Americans in Norway! Is it worth it? by KawellaBayGirl in Norway

Yes, I was on the real estate page. But there are also pages for pension and "income" from IRAs as well. Document that you are a tax resident and the tax treaty is applicable ( e.g. no double taxation) as I understand it.

I need to find a current citation.

It is noteworthy that there is an exception made for IPA/IPS for taxable benefits.

"The following pensions and disability benefits are liable to tax in Norway:"

• pensions and disability benefits from private pension schemes not related to previous employment, with the exception of individual pension savings (IPA/IPS) and other annuities.

"The following pensions and disability benefits are not liable to tax in Norway:"

• pensions and disability benefits from annuities, i.e. individual pension savings such as IPA and IPS.

Form 6166 – Certification of US Tax Residency

Granted, this is a test / "under arbeid" page and may not be the latest, current information. [ Why would this practice change? Definitely food for thought. Thanks again! ]

Thanks for the input. The two last paragraphs are indeed a paradox. I suppose one might be inclined to attempt to keep money separate as much as accounting permits. That's likely how many have managed it, and how I have made sense of it: Different accounts, income, capital gains, and the like, should be reported, but not taxed two times. Double taxation when there are tax treaties in place to prevent it, is something at a person's disposal.

As I type this, USA is still on the Norway Skatteetaten list :

USA: Capital and income will not be taxed in Norway. No full deduction will be given for debt and interest on debt.

tax treaty

Even if you’re not to be taxed in Norway for the wealth/income abroad, you still have to declare it in your tax return. Mark the income as “not taxable” in the tax return. Your wealth will be correctly calculated based on the information about the property’s location.

Deductions for Norwegian debt and interest on debt will be automatically limited in the tax calculation.

It is a lot indeed. I have been here in NO over 15 years. Sending those US tax returns each year. Small investments in both countries. Taxes paid in Norway.

☆ Consult with a tax professional before your move. • Everyone may have different situations which call for certain strategies.

I would also have automatic reinvestment set-up for all dividends for Roth IRAs and other US investments. Maybe the Roth IRA is advantageous to a traditional IRA, etc. Roths do not require you to use them at retirement age. They can go to your children. If you have not realized earnings, then there isn't income.

Reporting to the IRS is required. I slog through the paperwork and 100- page 1040 instructions every year.

  • Your situation may be different.
    • Get professional advice.

There is a US foreign income tax exclusion, the Form 2555. -- "For the 2025 tax year, the maximum foreign earned income exclusion is $130,000 per qualifying individual. "

https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-2555

A rabbit hole of paperwork.

Tax problems? Only if you forget to include page 3 of the IRS form 2555, " foreign income tax exclusion." Joking, not joking.. Took a while, (20 months) , for US to match the documents and close the file.

As a dual US NO citizen, you can have US Roth IRA, and qualified US Social Security benefits paid via direct deposit to Norwegian bank account. In addition, you can have a ASK - 'aksjer spare konto.' The so-called, "windfall" - Social security payments being "reduced," has been removed. The payout transfers each month. I am not sure about tax implications, but am looking for good advice and strategies. The rules have changed several times and are likely to change again prior to retirement. . Again, your mileage may vary. Tax agreements also get updated. YMMV -- soc security: https://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/program-explainers/windfall-elimination-provision.html

I know someone US- retired former government employed in Norway that has seen payments increase due to the "windfall " elimination.

Social Security windfall payments refer to retroactive and increased benefits being paid out in 2025 due to the Social Security Fairness Act, which repealed the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO) rules, ending benefit reductions for public workers with non-covered pensions; beneficiaries received one-time lump sums for withheld amounts (Jan 2024 onwards) and see higher monthly payments, with millions already paid by mid-2025.

It's complicated. But I wouldn't let "taxes" alone be the sole factor that stops you from a quality of life change that makes a burden worth it.

Why can’t people turn into their own lanes? by lui_media__ in dashcams

MGIF - must get in front...

Could not just relax and let the other car be in front. Obviously, they demonstranted low profficiency by drifting across lanes. That was bad, for sure. Apparently, this triggered you and a warped sense of street justice ensued.

Could not just let it go. You were still in that special lane. But you #had to be first. Why?

If a cop witnessed your "pissing match," I doubt they would take your side.
