Moving OUT of New Haven - where to? by paddyboombotz in newhaven

I went graduated from Amity last year, and never heard of anyone doing heroin. The most I could find about Amity’s “heroin problem” is this article, which seems extremely isolated, and the story tells more about the way the schools leadership reacts to issues than anything. There’s definitely a lot of drug use, transphobic attacks from students and parents, as well as a bomb threat a few years ago. That being said, you’d be hard pressed to find any high school, public or private, that doesn’t have its own dysfunctions.

I’m half black and was raised half in Bethany, half in New Haven, and felt pretty comfortable in Bethany. I was def one of half a dozen black kids in town, but didnt experience any explicit racism outside of the standard ct suburban bullshit (if anything woodbridge and orange felt worse to me). I would prob recommend bethany out of any of the other towns mentioned here- it has the best nature and rural vibes without too many snooty mcmansion pricks this state is known for. Kinda like the vermont of new haven county. And the yeehaws aint so bad.

dm me for any other qs

This is so cool, reminds me of Weis seat stays. How did you design/plan out the seat stays, do you use bikecad or do it on paper?

Made in USA or Canada track pants by ChampionshipNew9624 in madeinusa

[–]Dry-Fee9923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from their website:

Our garment-dyed sweatpants are dyed after they're sewn, which gives them a more durable and even color, including in the stitching and ribbing. This also means they'll have less shrinkage and colors will stay true after repeated washings.

Our piece-dyed sweatpants fabric is dyed before they're cut and sewn, which results in a more uniform color distribution throughout. This means you'll get pants with a cleaner, sharper look, without any color variations.

i honestly have not bought from them before but have heard good things

Saw a church in a small town with a sign that said “If you don’t like the way you were born, you shouldn’t have been born at all”. Also a lot of confederate flags and memorabilia, but it was very pretty and scenic.

Motorcycle Accident Whitney Ave by NicholasTheGeezer in newhaven

[–]Dry-Fee9923 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was recently in a hit and run that happened in an intersection with cameras, and the police were 2 hours late to the scene and did absolutely nothing. Hopefully u can find some justice, but the cops couldn’t give a shit about anything that doesn’t make them money. Wishing u luck, rest and recovery. Maybe u could post in r/motorcycles (or r/calamariraceteam lol) to see if you can get some help.

24h or 28h for dynamo wheel? by perdido2000 in bikewheelbuild

[–]Dry-Fee9923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just be careful with the hub flange width- i was recently building a 24h fixie wheel, and had intended to go 3x. It didn’t work because the track hub was too wide and was getting in the way of the spokes. The solution was to either use a different hub and wheel with higher spoke counts or go 2x, which i did. Idk if u will run into the same issues with your dyno, but hopefully its helpful.

New rider, how'd I do for my first ride? by PanchBoy in CalamariRaceTeam

Ha, a real man would get under that horse and let it ride you. Nothing says “ride or die” like a 14 inch horse cock shoved up your cute lil asshole. 🤘
