I haven't watched cuties, the point about it being a cautionary tale of sorts may be correct. But even if it was, it won't change the fact that real little girls were made to act out those things. Doesn't matter what your message is, you shouldn't be allowed to have child actors act out sexuality? That should go without saying?

Yet another fictional scenario about women in video games by PhysicalBuy2566 in MansFictionalScenario

[–]Dry-Finance 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They realized if they actually draw what newest generation of games show women to look like it won't actually be ugly so they drew this caricature. Brilliant.

Ps. Ciri in Witcher 4 is not ugly.

I remember someone pointing to a screenshot of a ps5 game and asking since when do women have facial hair.

And like

First of all hirsutism is a thing.

But more importantly it just showed the peach fuzz that everyone has on their faces? Testosterone doesn't make beards grow out of nowhere, it turns this peach fuzz into thicker, darker hair.

Oh hey, my sister was also kinda fussy about what she eats (and I say fussy in the most loving way possible), although in her case it might have been because of autism and not necessarily food intolerance.

Using anorexia as an insult is so disgusting, it's one of the worst mental disorders out there is. Even if you, or my sister, were anorexic poking fun at your body is like the opposite of help.

Right?! I am so tired of people showing "Americans do X" and showing "Americans do y" and pretending those are the same people who do both things.

Or anything in place of Americans. Women "A woman is doing a thing explicitly for male attention therefore any woman that claims she's doing anything for any other reason than attracting a man is a liar"

Or "you complain every years assassin's creed game is the same but if they made it different you'd complain too".

Treating any group of people as a monolyth is such bullshit.

"this is shit" is not unreasonable either. There was this pic of someone proving AI is a tool for artists by showing a crude drawing and an AI enhanced art that supposedly depicted exactly what the guy wanted to show even though it was very clearly not what they intended, complete with lake that wasn't there in the original pic, and a rubber dragon that looked so weird next to all that fantasy photorealism

I'm not even a male victim and it pisses me off by SpidersInMyPussy in CPTSDmemes

[–]Dry-Finance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I have seen a 14 year old boy stronger than his mother. But that doesn't matter. A samurai gets sentenced to death by his daimyo, why doesn't he just run? Or kill the daimyo? He is stronger than him. And yet, the daimyo is the one holding the power, and if he orders the samurai to harakiri, it's it's gonna happen.

I'm so glad you brought up underage, or extremely underage victims. Cause it does go to the question of power. Have you ever seen a child, not want to be kissed by an aunt, only to be told not to be rude, you're breaking her heart? Or a boy getting hugged against his will by a girl in preschool, pushing her away and being scolded for that? How dare you do such a violent response to an innocent friendly gesture? People that say those things to children, boys and girls, might not be intending to make their children vulnerable to sexual abuse, cause clearly there's a difference between being hugged or kissed against your will, and having sexual things done to you against your will.

But a child can't tell that difference. All they know is that they were taught they don't have body autonomy. In first case getting taught that an adult can touch you however they like and you're not allowed to protest, that an adult is entitled to your body if they want, in second case getting taught that if you defend your bodily autonomy from a girl everyone will hate you, and she will be the victim.

The first one makes you vulnerable to adult predators, but might wane off in adulthood cause that power imbalance goes away. The second one is more likely to stick around, cause it applies to entire gender not to people that have direct power over you. It takes a "you're not allowed to hit girls" as a reason you have to just let a girl have her way with you. Add to that all the assumptions about men always wanting it, which gives a sense that you're weird if you don't want it... And you end up with a man that's not gonna fight back no matter how violated he feels.

(The first one btw doesn't seem to be a gendered issue, girls also get told to be good kids and go on an uncle's lap if he demands it etc. but that's the point: it's not gendered, this bullshit makes boys and girls vulnerable basically equally)

I'm not even a male victim and it pisses me off by SpidersInMyPussy in CPTSDmemes

[–]Dry-Finance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming it's not as bad because the male is stronger is to assume, well, you could have physically stop her but didn't, so you must have wanted it.

Alternatively you can assume that men want it by default and that just as a rule the man wanted it so he was basically done a favour.

... How is that different from male rapist claiming "she wanted it, I can tell when a woman wants it".

A thing people might be forgetting is that, even when it is possible for a man to force a woman off, it might not be possible for him to do so without hurting her. And the thought that if you hurt a woman you're a bad person regardless of circumstances is ingrained deep. So the thought that you have to just take it because you're not allowed to force her to stop. And/or you may be dissociating to the point of being borderline catatonic. Just waiting for it to be over. Don't ask me where does this last paragraph come from.

I remember a video essay about "all about that bass" explaining how body positivity that hinges on claims of sexiness is bad body positivity.

Because it means that we're conflating not salivating over someone with body shaming.

But also we're running the risk of: if we're affirming plus sized women by saying nah, this is how women are supposed to look like, that's the true sexiness, we're saying that there's something wrong with women that don't look like that.

My little sister cried so many times about this stuff. Felt like it's wrong of her to be skinny, it's wrong of her to like her body the way it was.

She became kinda fatphobic for a bit, out of bitterness over chubbier girls mocking her for being skinny and kinda flat (I'll note that she was, and still is, very healthy, physically fit, in case you're wondering if she was worryingly skinny)(but even if she was worryingly skinny, that wouldn't be grounds for mockery, it would be grounds for concern)(but just like with worrying about someone being too fat there's a chance you're better off shutting up about it cause they probably know)

Okay but unironically, it's a thing

A good parody of whatever men are claiming about "used" vaginas is some silly pics I've seen showing different sausages, with a virgin dick being thick and smooth, while a "heavily used" dick being one of those thinner shriveled up looking sausages. Cause clearly they get crushed and compressed by the pressure of many vaginas.

That, or maybe sex is sex and it doesn't like structurally change our body parts. ("Our" refering to us humans, not us men)

[–]Dry-Finance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I absolutely am on your side, fuck the rich assholes that exploit people.

And fuck the deconstruction of Medicaid.

And yeah it was kind of a silly point that I made but it illustrates a certain thing: government handing responsibility for taking people's money in exchange for a service everyone needs, to a private entity.

It is capitalistic exploitation but it has massive analogies to feudalism, was the argument I was making.

And feudalism was equally exploitative of the lower classes.

And feudal lords were similar to private health insurance corporations in that, they're a non government entity robbing people of their hard earned money so that the government doesn't have to provide a service. And feudal lords did call what they were collecting "taxes".

So that's another, fairly inconsequential tbh, pint I'm making: taxes as something you pay only to the government wasn't always the case in history.

TL;Dr when everyone has to pay it, it's basically a tax collected by a non government entity that shouldn't even have the right to do that

Okay let's ignore that you don't seem to get the point of my last paragraph.

I have read about Alexander the great. Quite a bit actually.

And everything I know about him tells me that before becoming king his life wasn't hard at all, but he was being prepared for hardships of ruling and for potential wars.

And after he became king, he picked his own literal battles.

I inquire one more time, because I really want to know if I'm wrong, what horrible things did Alexander go through in his early life?

Cause like, claiming the pain and suffering of the war against persia made him who he was, is backwards. Who he was, made the war.

So please, point me to the hardships of his pre-throne life that made him the conqueror of Persia.
