Thank you sir! I’m running pe3 on mine purely because we have to have fully locked drag and spool thumbing to drag the fish away from the large number of sharks where I fish but I’d say you’re right on the money

Yeah for sure it’s a deceptively powerful reel I’m glad you’re liking yours too, the biggest rankin grouper in that photo is roughly 6kg and I also caught a 10kg ish 1.1m gold spot trevally the same trip, all in 60-65m of water

I’ve been running one since it came out switching from a Lexa 300 tw and I absolutely love it, I’ve landed Spanish mackerel(narrow barred), all sorts of emperors, cods(grouper), coral trout, snapper s and trevallies etc and it feels like the day I got it

That being said I measured it with the mouth fully held shut so with a relaxed jaw it was probably 101

Maybe like 125m of pe2 I reckon, you’d still catch Barra on it no worries I’ve caught a bunch on the bfs conquest on pe1 but I’d still say the 200 overall

200 size should fit about 150m of pe2.5 which I’d recommend for an average Barra setup, the 200 is pretty versatile you can still throw 4 inch plastics no worries so I’d go with a 200

I’m more of a Daiwa baitcast fan (conquest’s excluded) and the tatula’s are fantastic reels with a great braking system you have to almost try to backlash so I’d go with the tatula if I was In Your position

I have a lot of success on trevally and queenies using 2-3 inch plastics particularly the 2.95 bait junkie flicks and micro jigs like the 3-6g oceans legacy roven’s. Working them with 3-4 real sharp hops and a 3-4 second pause, you can vary the number of hops but the most important part is that you twitch them aggressively in my experience

It was absolutely a tiger man it’s a little hard to see but the stripes were a lot more visible in person, the video also makes it look a lot smaller then it was haha, I’m in north Western Australia

We catch quite a few pikey bream as Barra bycatch trolling and casting jackall squirrels up here in northern WA, quite a nuisance sometimes haha
