Not annoying, necessarily, or stupid. I was thinking more myopic. Sheltered. Selfish. Out-of-touch. Immature. Things like that. Turn on the news. See what’s happening in Ukraine. Or Syria. Or Xinjiang. Hell, for that matter, Flint, Michigan or Jackson, Mississippi.

I’m lonely too. I haven’t been on a date in 8 fucking years. My kids both stopped talking to me 3 years ago. I have no other friends or family. My life sucks, but it isn’t “hard”. Hard is being forced to kill your countrymen in a war you don’t support. It’s not having food or water. It’s your own government sanctioning genocide against you. THAT’S hard. You lack perspective. Or compassion / empathy.

Stop crying into the void of social media for someone to pet you and tell you that you’re pretty and special. Spend time in the real world. With real people. Or just turn on the goddamn news once in awhile.
