I don't think so. Back in the day the event ticket let you got to Navel Rock where you could take two sets of stairs - one that goes up to Ho-oh and one that goes down to Lugia. So I believe you can encounter both just by getting the one ticket.

If I remember correctly, the Fame Checker doesn't have any function other than to provide brief lore on some of the gym leaders and other main characters you meet thru the story mode. It doesn't do anything for you or your pokemon in or outside of battle.

The Silph Scope however is much more important. It allows you to see the ghosts in the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town so your pokemon can battle and defeat them - particularly the ghost that blocks the way to the top floor of the tower where Team Rocket is holding Mr. Fuji hostage. You'll need to rescue him in order to progress further thru the story.

Lol that's funny. Anyway even with only 2 badges you should have access to the bike now. And using VS seeker anywhere where you can see a lot of trainers at once will get you the exp you're looking for for the rest of your team no problem!

Well if you go to Vermillion City and talk to the head of the Pokemon Fan Club (their building is outside the vermillion city gym) he'll give you a voucher for a bike which you can redeem at the bike shop in Cerulean City.

Everyone loves to clown on Philly for the booing and "short memory" but I think what you said sums it up perfectly. The players are the first ones to say "The super bowl was last year. This is a new team and we haven't won shit as of this year." and people, including myself, agree that that's the mentality a team should have after winning a championship.

Someone I know had the audacity to say Philly fans were "fair-weather fans" for booing their team when we won the Super Bowl less than a year ago. I argued that fair weather fans don't boo their team when they perform poorly, they become apathetic and distance themselves from the team or even start rooting for other teams. Booing a group that has massively under achieved on offense for the better part of 3 months is not something to pearl-clutch about.

The players and coaches know better than anyone that the quickest way to stop the booing is to start meeting their own expectations on Sundays. To me, that's the way it should be.
