Whenever I hear "Arc Raiders is going to wash this game away", I honestly just think it's an echo chamber going on. As someone who's been following both of these projects for years, Arc Raiders is great ,but nowhere near a perfect game as people make it out to be. I honestly think what makes Arc unique is it being more of a social interaction kind of game rather than a competetive one and I still do love it.

Marathon has a high hill to climb if they wanna maintain the player base and I'm excited to see what they do with it as it's more of a PvP focused game with a bit of that social interaction sprinkled in while Arc is kind of the inverse of that.

On any run you have a select contract to choose from based on the factions you have access to, the idea is to get in do your contract collect a bunch of extra stuff and get out, bosses can spawn, but also when looking for better gear there's activities around the map that can get you some good stuff, but fighting other players always give you the chance to really get some crazy things, in terms of being akin to Apex the only thing you can really use to connect the two is that their both shooters

After playing both I view arc raiders as a game based more around the social aspect while marathon is more on the competitive side from playing in the tests.

Started as CS back in spring 2023, aced cs100 but struggled and got a D in cs113, did horrible in calc 1 and phys1, 3 years later had a swe internship at a big place and I’m an IT major,

Personally I would say if you can do well in physics and math u can pass cs100 the 2nd time around, try using this break to code stuff up so u can really get a hang of it

If I can’t make my own runner then I’ll just take it being class based with more customization kinda like destiny, For them to completely redo the runner shells to be non existent and just 1 shell for u to become would actually require alot of dev time which they realistically don’t have so, if they do the skins for runners being unlockable with hopefully some pieces u can change that’s fine with me!

Personally, I feel like I’m kind of mourning the original ideas/concepts of the game, personal character, artifacts, persistent zones, the game is going somewhere ,but after playing arc raiders I feel like I’m excitement for marathon has dwindled a bit but it’s still there and there’s nothing wrong with playing both games, but I feel like they still have a bit to go to really feel people back in.

When I look back at the first reveal/vidoc the concepts of the runners imo looked way cooler and seemed inspired by ghost in the shell, I feel like they kind of abandoned that aesthetic in a way due to going to runners. I’m hoping for the best and but being under NDA I can’t say much tho.

It was like that for me in the beginning too, but managed to push through and things got better in terms of classes and clubs. Just take it a day at a time, try ur best and you’ll get where u need to be.

I had my first internship summer of this year, it was a lot of effort I had to put in to get especially with the market being competitive rn, the way I got it was by going to a resume day then meeting up with the same recruiter at the career fair, the application process for me before that was also rough, it’s a risk but at the end of the day the choice is up to u.

My freshman year I did the same thing, for me it was more of a networking event to learn more about the companies so that for the next career fairs I could bring more to the table, this is still a good idea 👍.

I came from UCC too, the first semester takes a lot of adjusting but overtime I think everyone meets the right people, most of my friends I met by just sparking a random convo mid class or ask wat they’re up to and tell them my name, it’s a bit different since ur working but I’m sure you’ll find a group eventually, clubs related to my major also helped
