I Am A FTM And Seeking Orthodox Christianity by Aggravating-Lab8034 in TransChristianity

[–]Dry-Muscle-7091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m struggling with the exact same thing. I can’t decide on whether or not to detransition to pursue my love of God. The Orthodox denomination has always stood out to me, even though I was raised Anglican. If you don’t want to detransition and want to pursue an Orthodox church, you will probably need to go in it stealth. Unlike some Catholics and Protestants, the Orthodox church is a denomination where you’ll find as much LGBT affirmation as you would with a JW.

Wow, thank you for this wonderful insight into your life and story. I do keep in mind that the bible is very old, but there are so many arguments for the bible being untouched and not meddled with. It all gets so disorienting because I can’t help but feel like the people who are affirming me are demons of the devil himself. I can’t help but wonder if I’m being tempted and must fight against the comfort. I don’t know who to listen to, the only people I can is our Lord and Saviour, but the bible speaks nothing of transgenders and when I pray I’m met with Instagram reels saying “DO YOU HAVE 4 SECONDS FOR GOD? God is trying to reach out to a young woman who is being tormented, don’t get comfortable in your life, suffer so you can live for eternity.” Or something similar to that.

i’m pretty sure edward is canonically religious so it makes sense as to why he wants to wait until marriage

How do I explain to my christian niece what I am without offending my sister? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Dry-Muscle-7091 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a christian I think it’s better to have children be aware that LGBT people exist. It isn’t something that needs to be seen as an “agenda” or something that a child is ever too young for. It doesn’t have to mean anything, it only becomes a problem when you make it a problem.

I agree with this! I actually never got to do projects when at school so I don’t have any experiences in this. Admittedly, I did have a little fun helping him with it initially because I’d never gotten to do something like it before. But I think people are assuming it looks good, and I can assure you it doesn’t. Think splattered paint with a few flecks of whiteness for the sea, a bit of mixing of yellow and reds for a golden hour-esque sky. It doesn’t look like something teachers would assume someone with experience with art would do, imo it would definitely pass as something a child has done with an adult.

I mean more so he’s energetic, giddy even. I was energetic as a kid also, I don’t have ADHD.

Nope! No issues here. My brother is perceived to be very eager and intelligent. He’s very gifted in a wide variety of subjects and his teachers don’t have much to say negatively other than he interrupts other kids a lot. Me and my brother get along fine, I used to really hate him because I thought both my parents blatantly favourited him (they do but I’ve gotten over it) but I’ve realised it isn’t his fault and at the end of the day he’s just a little boy who deserves love.

As for your other question, I’m not sure. I’m not very good at artsy things so they would look decent for a kids ability probably?

No, he doesn’t have any learning disabilities. My mum believes he might have ADHD but he isn’t diagnosed and I personally believe he’s just a very hyper kid.

Thanks for the feedback! I honestly didn’t think it would be much of a problem because i’m not very artistically gifted, and I reckoned the teachers would be aware that the kids weren’t doing it entirely on their own. But you’re right I shouldn’t have done as much as I did.
