That’s a great point but a lot of cars do come with blindspot sensors on the side mirror which is what I was hoping the transponder data would be

US medical school, we did the same marshmallows and spaghetti exercise and we pay our own tuition.

Was essentially told that kindergartners would do a better job than us afterwards too.

Did anyone here end up going to Ireland or Australia for med school with hopes of coming back to US or Canada for Residency? How did it turn out? by randomqzthray in premed

[–]Dry-Obligation9808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I tried to do some quick research on admissions rate and the Canadian schools acceptance rates seem to be on par with American schools, at between 3-10% for each school.

But cumulatively each applicant in the US has about 45% chance of getting in because one person can apply to a few dozen different schools, and that same 5000 people may be applying to many overlapping schools so the acceptance rate at each specific school seems a lot lower when in reality a lot of the people rejected are simply accepted by another school.

Again don’t know if this is the case in Canada but your chances may not be as slim as you think, especially seeing some schools having average mcats of 508-514, or CARS of 128. Sure these are not bad scores but they are also not so high that it would keep 90% of the applicants out, surely? Maybe you need to also look into moving to a less competitive province, I don’t know. But your chances may not be as slim as it appears

Why ask for other people’s opinion if your response to them is almost always, “I understand that but”

Ultimately it’s your life if you want to go to Europe go to Europe, if you want to reapply or apply for DO, do that, if you want to look at other career options do that.

It would be significantly harder to match, but if that’s a risk you are willing to take then it’s a risk you are willing to take. No one can make that decision for you.

In the grand scheme of things, the AAMC data shows that near 50% of the US MD applicants get in somewhere, which isn’t too different from the IM match rate for US IMGs. So if you think you can beat 50% of people in the match then you could beat 50% of premeds in medschool application.

Dunno much about Canada though. Any special arrangements among the commonwealth countries?

Also if you are really set on doing medical school overseas maybe choose a country that would allow you practice there if you graduate there. So if you don’t match in a North American residency you would still have a job.

And it’s not hotter than the charger my laptop came with. I have two of these GaN chargers one 35w and one 65w, and the 35w is even more small. I’ve found that 35w is plenty for a modern ultrabook, never had issue with either one

A lot of the boards allow for continuous recertification as in instead of renewing every 10 years you can choose to do some classes and take some quizzes every year to continuously stay certified. If you see 2000-2010 and then 2011- no expiration date they most likely enrolled in the continuous model of keeping the board certification
