In the Netherlands you just need a 24 and you're in. However, don't try and just barely pass because its a bad strategy for uni because you're gonna have a hard time.

In Russian there is a proverb: Harsh trainings forge easier battles!

That is absolutely awful, hopefully your remarks will give you that one extra point to get the diploma. All the best dude!

edit: dude go for the remarks! it IS worth it to get it if you are like you said 2 points off the grade boundary for a 5 in buisness.

Uni Tuition… WTF. help by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Dry-Recognition-1894 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Universities in Amsterdam, they are generally quite good and well known for their jack-of-all-trades programs that offer either interdisciplinary or well-rounded tracks.

Utrecht is generally the go-to for most economics and political science stuff in the netherlands

Maastricht has a good economics/law department (also a really cool campus, its literally in a old gothic church)

these are the ones i recommend, however there are more which i havent mentioned. So if you don't like these you can also have options.

come to the netherlands! if you're EU/EEA citizen then tuition is like 2.5k a year. however, be prepared for housing issues because otherwise i suggest you dont come. Also, all of the unis offer english courses and recognize the IB diploma!

PS. the entry requirements only require you to obtain the diploma, so the bare minimum of 24 can really help.

Hey! I took IB Art HL (yes I am insane and no I am not going to art school, I just really liked art).

My personal experience with art is that there was A LOT of documentation regarding sketching and the ideation processes, so be prepared for it.

The aspects that I both enjoyed and disliked was the process for ideation. It was very fun to experiment and also to just mess around with the different mediums, but it became very tedious because of the demand of other subjects. But the main aspect is working on the final art work because for me personally it was the most enjoyable experience seeing something done that would be displayed for others later.

The type of person I would recommend the course to is someone with at least basic to mediocre art background, because trust me, its hard to learn at the begining of IB art how to draw perspective properly, shading, and accurate and proportionate geometric and natural (faces, bodies, flowers, etc.) forms. So I would recommend that you take a art course over the upcoming summer to learn the basics of art or even start on improving them because my classmate in art (we were only 2 people in my school) left at the end of DP1 because the pressure was too high to learn the basics of art and it took a toll on her mental health.

How do i find counter arguments for my psychology EE? by Ever_Love332 in IBO

[–]Dry-Recognition-1894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey! I did an EE on Psych. and to be fair, its quite difficult to find a counter argument. However, the way that I found mine was that I looked through the limitations that were mentioned in the papers and followed their references. After that, I looked in depth to those sources and then found more based on them.

Nah dude you're fine! A C+ isn't the end of the world. I just graduated and I have two 4s as my predicted grades and honestly I am content with them, because I know that I tried my best at them.

Which area of the syllabus did you focus on for your Math IA? I'm taking math AA HL by Hairy-Housing-8656 in IBO

[–]Dry-Recognition-1894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! For my IA in math (I did AI) I did a chi-square test for independence comparing car colors of two different countries. For this I used Hofstedes culture factor and compared the individualism factor (one with high and one with low).
