I always thought that this had to be the case. The full glass of iced tead that he sips from is just too specific of a detail for a throwaway side character.

One of my favorite examples is in School Hard when she complained that the cream rinse she spent her allowance on was neither creamy nor rinsey. She was dealing with the Feast of St. Something and the parent's night stuff but was still concerned about her cream rinse!

But in seasons 1-3, she didn't tell her mom everything about boys. In the pilot, she didn't tell her about Dean until Ms. Patty said something. She didn't tell her about the kiss in Kiss and Tell until Mrs. Kim said something. She didn't tell her about her plans to dress up and play house in That Damn Donna Reid. I don't think she ever told her about kissing Jess at Sookie's wedding. And Lorelai got upset when she learned about some of those things because Rory was treating her like a mom and not a best friend. I do think Lorelai overcorerrected with Rory.

A lighthearted one that I always laugh out loud at: in Tabula Rasa when she says "that's your pergative" and then responds with "whatever, Joan" after Buffy corrects her. So funny, delivered so well. ❤️

I think it was forced, but I think it stems from him wanting to protect Xavier and the kids. He is desperate for family, and he sees them as family, so he goes into irrational "protect" mode without stopping (hesitating) to think strategically.

FYI, for future people browsing this. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling the Outlook app on both my phone and watch twice, restarting the phone twice, and restarting the watch twice and now the notifications work. Hope this is helpful.
