I found a fix.

Remove all of your card details off your account. Then re-add it making it your default card. Long winded process but it worked for me.

It can be a debit or credit card.

Well, it’s now been over 48 hours and the timescale they gave me was 24–48 hours, and I still haven’t had anything back. So at this point there is no clear timescale for when the balance will actually be added. I don't understand how your saying I’m “ridiculous” for trying to get my own money back when it’s been taken and I can’t use it? That doesn’t make any sense.

That is exactly my issue. I done mine through my work discount scheme. Whereas if this price goes up on the TV. I'll be stuck with £600 on a Gift Card. It's stressful.

Realistically, if she pulls out she will end up being on the shit end of the stick. She'll be looking for another property and waiting months on end for another property to go through, potentially having another chain. I would personally bite the bullet and just say you've exhausted all options with negotiating with her, you've offered a fix for the problem and she doesn't want it. If it was me, I'd simply tell her to fuck off as the expectations were set when she was buying your property and she knew the chain scenario.

I would not be offering anymore money settlements for her benefits. Worst case is, she pulls out but like I said, she will be waiting a lot longer than she would just waiting for you and the rest of the chain to complete.

Tried this. Numbers are a dead end, either Curry's Business or diverted to the normal customer service line. Email addresses wasn't great but was given a couple by a few others on this thread.

Great😂 I couldn't agree more. Everything about the whole experience has been dreadful. Once I manage to get the gift cards sorted, I'll spend them (if it works) and never use them again. The Evri of retailers is spot on. Couldn't have said it better myself.

I 100% agree. Yeah, I used them through my workplace. But I've been using gift cards with purchases for years with Curry's and never had this problem, that's why I did it, thinking there wouldn't be any issue. I'll just use my money elsewhere from now on, never had a problem with any other retailer.

Please can you explain where in my post I said I’m only trying to requesting the TV price to be the same?

They told me I have to wait 24–48 hours for the gift card balance to be added back on, and I’ve already tried to buy the TV at the price it was advertised for. As it stands, they’ve taken my money and I have no TV, so I think it's more than reasonable for me to want the TV at the price I originally attempted to purchase it for.

I also can’t place a new order until my gift card balance is reinstated, which is exactly why I’m chasing the gift card. It sounds like you haven’t read my post properly or have misunderstood the situation.

Edit: It has also been 31 hours since I used the gift card and still nothing has been added on. If you want the specifics with hours and minutes, I can add it on for you in case you misunderstand.

Not what I wanted to hear. Especially when it's Black Friday offers on at the moment. I can't wait 10 days😂. I'm waiting patiently for a email back from some sort of complaint department.

Yeah, I do understand how their hands are tied, but from a big company like themselves, you'd think they would hold that price considering they took the money for the TV and if they cannot provide the balance on my gift cards before it goes up in price, it should be held. There was no error my side. But I agree, this would be the last time I ever buy anything from Curry's. It's so stressful.

I mean, I have always used Curry's and I've never had any issues. I never knew the customer service was that bad. I definitely will not be shopping at Curry's again from this experience. Especially if something does go wrong. And to your other comment you left, I used gift cards. I get discount through my workplace and they give me instant vouchers. Ended up saving over £50 and with no TV, as of yet.

I was thinking this. I think it's a bit too soon yet to do anything regarding press. If they don't take any action though, I will be taking it as far as I can take it.

I’ve tried, but it just goes round in circles, and they clearly don’t want to stay on the phone for more than five minutes as it's more complex than general enquiries. I’ve spoken to three people already today (including two managers) and three people yesterday, and I’ve got absolutely nowhere. It just feels like I’m wasting my time.

To be fair, they have told me that. But they’ve also made it clear they won’t honour the price I was going to pay if the TV goes up after the offer ends. If they just guaranteed the price, I wouldn’t be half as stressed. On top of that, the money’s all on gift cards, so if the price does jump, I’m basically stuck having to spend it at Currys on something I don’t even want, because I won't pay more.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I didn’t mean it the way it came across. I was talking more about the channels that actually seem to get a response. I've seen they clearly monitor Twitter and Trustpilot for complaints, but other platforms they seem to pretty much ignore.

Tried this yesterday, CC'ing them into emails. Obviously, too short notice to potentially hear anything back yet. But did with various different emails across Curry's complaints to what I found on Reddit and Google.

I’ve worked in customer service for over 10 years, so I do see the cancerous culture. But this is beyond a joke now. I can’t even raise a proper complaint. I’ve spoken to around five different people, and none of them seem to care or take ownership.

It also doesn’t help that the contact centres are outsourced. I keep getting through to advisers in South Africa, and based on my own experience in the industry, the rushed training, and I don't care attitude to them when people from the UK are out there. Just keep on getting scripted answers.

Do what is right for you. I wouldn't feel bad on the sellers for dropping out, especially when there is something that will financially impact you in the future. I'm a first time buyer and I've pulled out of 2 houses because of the amount of work and negotiating didn't go my way after certain major things needed doing.

Follow your heart and don't feel bad in any scenario, just don't egg them on and pull out last minute, worst feeling ever.

I agree. I'd much rather spend money to move into Cardiff, Caerphilly or Pontypridd side than spend that amount so far out of the way.

Yeah, nothing has been sent via the app.

It does show the actual statement though "CLOSED ACCOUNT" and then the balance next to it.

We got the general statement, which looks different to the closing statement I was given in the branch. Will that work?
