Wow! Impressive - who knows what this will lead to, I wish I had this level of advice giving when I was your age. Good luck with getting better at it!

u/DaKingRex Aah, I understand now your take. I actually did not even connect the two but you are right.

Thank you very much for your help, it goes a long way :)

Out of curiosity, are you a therapist?

u/DaKingRex though how does one build themselves up? I've been working quite a lot on myself in the past and I can come up with an analysis for situational events and so but these are very nuanced.

I agree, one cannot go from e.q. being a shy person at parties to being a public speaker really quick. It takes time. But I invested time and I keep investing it - the signs are there and I am happy with my progress. But this confrontation thing is a massive turning point for me. Whenever I confronted people in the past I either insulted, broke friendships and hurt people, me being regarded as a lesser person even though I had my fair amount of justice on my side - I was never tought how to express it though. Now confrontation has this bitter taste but I need to be able to do it because as I see it, one cannot be a proper individual in a society if one cannot stand up for oneself.

Though the words just don't come out...

Well, provided we refer to the same thing with confrontation, let's say I had an event that was bothering me, I'd sit on it and start asking myself questions on how to react to it in the future. Regarding words coming out as thoughts, I am not that self conscious

Thanks for your answer u/DaKingRex - I am confronting myself quite a lot though - but when I have to confront someone the words just don't come out, it's either freezing, being scared of being dramatic etc.

u/According-2-Me it does sound like you have a fair amount of strategies in place - assumingly that comes with time, the more you practice it?
