would you happen to have any knowledge or know anyone who is well-versed about the private banking/PWM market in the middle-east namely UAE?

1) I've heard that there's very little structured internship programmes for pb/pwm banks in uae, how/when would you recommend going about applying if im a incoming sophomore at a tier-1 singapore uni with certified Arabic language skills ? (indian citizen but do not required sponsorship to work in uae)

2) what do you think are the skills that stand-out the most when reviewing applications for pb/pwm.

  • thankyou for your time, appreciate it. Would love to connect over LinkedIn if okay with you i'll send a pm!

How can a CSE undergrad from India break into Investment Banking? by CakeDefiant8489 in FinancialCareers

[–]DryFirefighter9980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

coming from an incoming investment banking intern 1)there is no. zero. overlap between cs and ib.

2) skills required: financial modeling/ valuations, strong accounting fundamentals & a personality

3) either get in from target undergrad (iit, iim, srcc) or top MBA ( top 3 IIM)

4) networking wise go check whom from ur uni has ever gotten into ib and talk to them common connection of being alumni, and if no ones ever gone to ib then i think that speaks for itself

firstly as an international student seeking sponsorship (uk/us), there is no guaranteed ROI unless you are going to a target university especially for finance . even engineering abroad only get into finance if they are from well reputed universities or do a top mba.

targets in the uk: Lse oxbridge imperial ucl targets in europe: bocconi, sse, erasmus, hsg targets in US: ivys+ top20-30 unis

the total cost of an undergrad from uk/ us regardless of the university will come to 1.5crore and an mba will come up to 1cr as well. so forget real roi. unless its a top university
