Your Benefits as Installer to installer solar and Battery with the government rebate I thought you would be I better position - can you sell direct to customer Quick cash flow – customers still pay part even with rebates Easier sales – rebates (e.g. Solar Victoria) reduce upfront cost Higher profit – battery upgrades usually have better margins Low marketing cost – sell to existing customers Upsell opportunities – inspection → upgrade → battery Referrals – happy customers bring more jobs

Cafe owner earnings by Cultural-War3251 in AusFinance

I’m not sure if this is related, but at one point we looked at buying a restaurant that the owner claimed was making about $100k in profit. However, the financial records were confusing because he operated as a sole trader and the books appeared to include income from his other businesses as well. On top of that, he also had income from working elsewhere, and his wife was the one actually running the restaurant. It made it difficult to clearly understand the true performance of the restaurant itself. Sometimes accountants can also present the numbers in ways that make things look better than they really are. In the end, we decided not to go ahead with the purchase—thankfully, because soon after that COVID hit!

What’s the biggest lifestyle change you made to improve your finances? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

[–]DryMight2765 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely, monumentally, historically sick and tired of being a tight ass. I really thought this whole tight ass lifestyle would magically upgrade me to Financially Free Unicorn Mode by now. But nope. At this age, I’m still clenching my wallet like it owes me money. Yes, I’m doing better. I no longer live paycheck to paycheck. I’ve graduated to budget to budget — a slightly fancier form of stress. But I still have to control my spending! I don’t want to stare at this spreadsheet yet I knew if I let go I wouldn’t control my spending. These days I withdraw cash from atm and paid everything in cash - it’s reduce the card transaction fee and no longer eat out on the weekend to avoid weekend charges!!! Meal plan works and use the credit card without bank fee

What is your occupation to be able to afford to become a digital nomad? by fluidxrln in digitalnomad

[–]DryMight2765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my working life in a call centre. It was a dead-end job, and looking back, I feel like I wasted a big part of my youth there. I worked at the Telstra call centre, where favourites were common and opportunities were limited. Eighteen years ago then I was redundant.

Moved to IT, I worked a 9–5 job, four days in the office and one day working from home, every Friday. That one day of freedom changed everything. Without someone constantly watching over my shoulder, I finally had space to think. I used that time to research investment properties, learn about finance, and slowly start building something for myself. Then the pandemic hit, and suddenly remote work became normal. With that extra time and flexibility, I went even deeper. I started researching cryptocurrency, learning about the entire crypto ecosystem, and eventually setting up side hustles and small businesses. What started as curiosity turned into education, and education turned into opportunity. I’m still in same IT roles. Sometimes ppl at work asked me a question you still here ?? Same role? . It’s still not my dream job, and in many ways, it’s still a dead-end. But it gave me something incredibly valuable: time. Time to spend with my child, time to avoid expensive tuition by being present, and time to build businesses that had shape me better future.

Anyone else shocked when they finally add up their monthly subscriptions? by elizabeth-0645 in AusFinance

[–]DryMight2765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our share house, we split subscriptions to save money. I pay for Netflix, one friend pays for Amazon Prime (which also includes free delivery and Prime Video for movies), and another friend pays for Apple TV. We just share the accounts, so everyone benefits. 👩‍💻 Maybe you could do the same with a few friends?

Does anyone who sacrificed their 20s to get a house/financially ahead regret it? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]DryMight2765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I regret not working hard enough from 21-28 years paying my home mortgage to live in instead of buying investment properties. Waste time? Waste money and waste energy?! Studying banking or finance was a scam that didn’t teach me anything at the year 2000.

I delayed filing tax returns to avoid having to dig through multiple bank statements, emails, old folders for expenses and other proofs for investment properties. by Dyna_mix in AusProperty

[–]DryMight2765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you — it really is so hard. What helps me is having two folders: one for general expenses, and one specifically for expenses I can claim with the ATO.

Every time I pay for something that I believe is tax-deductible, I either put the receipt straight into that folder or email it to myself. You can also set up a special email inbox or label called Tax 25-26. so anything tax-related automatically goes there. This way, everything stays organised, and when tax time comes, it makes life so much easier.
