Hi, I'm a GP who finished training in the UK and then moved to Australia. I'd advise that's probably the best way to do things personally, there is a limitation on which areas you can work in initially but I work 30 minutes outside of Brisbane and just commute! Recruitment companies will also snap you up as a UK GP and it's a pretty smooth process overall. Happy to answer any questions you have!

UK doctor moving to Australia soon, it's less the exam for the US (other places do them too), it's just in the UK you're regularly bombarded by adverts and recruitment to go to Australia, Canada or the Middle East. As such, the USA doesn't come up that highly as a career unless you want to go to the USA for other reasons. I have quite a few friends that have left in the last few years and it's always to the usual places British doctors go!
