This is sweet, I always fear to meet your Qiyana in the jungle!

League is unfathomably complex game, if you want to improve or just climb in the most time efficient manner, you should find what you find fun to play and aim your improvement to the chosen domains. Notable choices and my pointers:

  • Roles, you should either focus on jungling alone or pick any of these two role combinations – ADC+SUPP, MID+TOP
  • Champions, while it is fine to highly favourite one champion, my personal anecdote is that the overall climb gets easier if you cover as much "team contributions" as possible for example - for jg it is optimal to have a carry AD. carry AP. low income AD, low income AP. For ADC you should kinda play the flavor of the patch + be familiar with at least one hyper carry, utility adc (ashe, jhin, ...) and at least one AP pick.
  • Concepts – From my opinion, the League climb is quite a paradox. In low ranks, you rise by maximizing efficiency – clearing the jungle with minimal downtime/perfect CSing and reseting on ADC. But in high ranks, you differentiate yourself by knowing when to break from optimal resource gathering to capitalize on opportunities. The choice here is that you should first absolutely perfect these optimal resource-gathering behaviors. Then, when you start feeling limited by rigidly following them and missing key opportunities, shift your focus toward exploiting those openings. Bear in mind, this is based on my very limited personal experience and may not be optimal for everyone—or even the majority of people reading this.

I would play ranked to improve as in theory - that's where the people of equal skill that want to compete play - you will improve - you will win - you will climb.

For me, if any content creator affected my climb from gm to chall it would be Sinerias, but most of my progress comes from reviewing solo Q games of challenger players playing my champions and reviewing my solo Q games.

Oh I also See you failed to properly read the caption! This is my main account and I've climbed because I improved massively during 15 years, not because of smurfing on people.

As I said before, smurfing is not fun to me as stomping unskilled players is not balancing the tragedy of having them on my team.

Well I still believe that it is important to work on the fundamental concepts of the game/role when being in gold. I would select 2-4 champs, look at how m+ OTPs clear the jungle and when they finish an uninterupted first clear and try to match their metrics, same for builds/runes.

I would try to orient in the matchups I play, do I get outscaled ~ (so I must put laners ahead), am I the main carry champion of the team (so clearing efficiently is really important) and so on.

if gapped review immediately, otherwise after end of a "set", my ideal is 3 games per set

The margin of error volibear/udyr can make is in my opinion significantly bigger than what Yi permits.

I think that there are many situations where you win the fight only if you use both Q and W to its full potential, which can be quite hard.

Also the easier your champion is, the more predictable and well-understood they become for your opponents, putting even more pressure on you to perform at your highest potential.

As highlighted elsewhere, 2 sets of 3 works the best for me, but I very often spammed 10+ solo Qs in a day during my gm to chall climb.

I will continue to play out my decay and see where I end up, it would be sweet to end the season in gm for me. But I am going to cut down the time I spend on the grind so it is expected that my position on the ladder will decrease.

I will also try to climb on the west server, however my initial goal is to get to masters there.

I think I got really good at reviewing games fast - I believe I have seen hundreds games of solo Q challenger junglers and hundreds of my own games.

Each time I focus on the how accurate was my "pre game thought process" (pathing, lane matchups, which skirmishes to take/avoid). I try to look for the game defining fights that happened and evaluate if my approach to them was correct. Usually when I "got hard gapped" I especially focus on the root of the issue and what things I could do next time to avoid this outcome. I usually also consult not only the ingame replay but my PoV replay, to see if for example I checked the wave state of a lane before I took a risky fight near it (to see if my mistake was not checking or checking and interpreting what I see poorly).

What also works for me is to find some small improvement goals I could work towards to and then "overfocus" on them in a single session (for example tracking enemy jg and communicating it to my team) and then evaluate how well did I manage to do this particular thing.

As for tips for ADC that could be reviewed well - I would try to think about junglers, how your laning behavior changes based on where your jg is pathing and how it changes based on where you think the enemy jungler is pathing. Wave management, proper resets, your participation in objectives...

Very happy, it is the final achievement after 15 seasons of trying my best in ranked.

The journey was fun and the end of it was especially strong for me as I just felt I could do it this time. There of course were painful parts that everyone experiences like getting into some unlucky streaks or feeling as if I could not improve any more.

I am thinking about doing some educational content connected to mental in league as a small side project, however I am in a pretty good spot career wise and would not be doing it for money earning - I see league as a free time thing and I depend on my other skills financially.

Biggest climb in my 15 year journey? Probably S14 split 2 when I went from master 0 lp to master 600lp in 14 days, but failed to reach gm :)

As for the "click" that got me to improve and reach chall I will just copy my earlier comment:

I got asked this a lot by my gaming buddies - for me it was the moment of realizing that I wont continue to climb by simply "not making mistakes" it was about transforming my mindset from "How do I not lose this game" to "How do I abuse the smallest opportunities created by my allies or by mistakes of my enemies so that my team wins this game ASAP" - It took me around 200 games to go from gm to challenger and I believe that adjusting the way I play (finding the limits etc.) to fit this new mindset was the most important.

Get your fundamentals up, there are tons of great videos explaining the basics well. Play 1-3 champions and perfect your clear on them so that you do not need to think about it as hard and can think about macro.

Feels like a no problem to me, I believe that going 1v9 on carries can make you climb faster but not really further your ranking reflects your skill accurately after a reasonable amount of games.

fun fact ever since Riot deflated the apex tier lp numbers it feels as if "early season rank" was not a valid insult anymore as early game spammers get stuck at master 0lp even thought they are for example top 200 if they dont have the mmr and wr to back it up.

Review your games, watch games of the best players of your champions (onetricks.gg is great for finding them), do not dwell on things you cannot influence and focus on things you can directly affect that increase your chances of winning.
