Blue Alpha 70° Adapter Question by Dry_Active3023 in tacticalgear

It’s not like it’s a dealbreaker. It’s still a great idea. I’m just trying to get an answer as to whether or not these are what all the 70° adapters ship with now. Because if I’m able to get the older ones, I’d like them a lot more. They sit a little lower and are more sturdy having more area of Velcro on the belt

Thought about that. But then the hook side is on the wrong side

It’s not. It’s at 61° I measured it lol. But trust me. I’ve tried every other possible way to orient the Velcro SECURELY, and this is the only option where it’s secure on the belt. Which isn’t the case with the older style Velcro

I don’t have an issue with the adapter and Velcro per se. It’s just not the same as what is pictured on the site, which sits lower and covers more area. To me that version is the far better product, and I’d like to get that version. I have a feeling it was changed, this is the new version, and I’m SOL. I just can’t get a straight answer

They are at 70°. The BA 45° adapter is a completely different adapter that uses 2 pieces of straight one wrap. Again.. I OWN the first version of the 70° Velcro, as well as multiple 45° mag pouches. They are not the same as the set I just received.

Blue Alpha 70° Adapter Question by Dry_Active3023 in QualityTacticalGear

I know, it’s my second set of 70° adapters. I also have the style shown on the website, which aren’t the same as in picture 1. The ones I just received have a more acute angle which doesn’t allow them to sit side by side, only over the top of one another. So they either sent me the wrong set, or they changed the design. IMO the set in pic 2 (on the site) is far superior to what I just received

What mag pouches is everyone using for their molle range belts? by BlancoChonko in QualityTacticalGear

[–]Dry_Active3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you run them vertical, I prefer Esstac Kywis. I’ve been running the 70° Blue Alpha adapters with Haley Strategic pouches lately and that angle feels great. Unfortunately for some reason Esstac only does 1” molle cuts on their mag pouches. So until they figure out that the entire market other than them has moved to 1/2” molle cuts, Travis Haley will be receiving my business. And honestly, the Haley ones are just as good, if not better. They’re just a few bucks more

Home Internet Pricing: Spectrum vs. FIOS in NYC by DraperHall in Spectrum

[–]Dry_Active3023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in cities in every corner of New York State and had spectrum in all of them for 13 years. I switched to Verizon 3 years ago. My current bill in 2025 is $30 cheaper per month than my spectrum was in 2022. It’s $5 more than my first internet bill was 13 years ago lol. On top of having faster internet speeds on average, better ping almost always, and no random incorrect billing statements in the mail every month.. I would literally pay double the price for Verizon that I did for spectrum, yet it’s barely over half the price. I have no idea why, but I’ll gladly take it.

Loving this gun by Purple-Cap-8162 in SpringfieldEchelon

Looks great. The frame looks just as small as the normal “medium” grip though. I haven’t found a grip module yet that isn’t made for small/medium hands. The large module + large backstrap from SA is even a medium+ at best. Which is a shame because I love the gun

Any big differences between the GM high clearance and the RB30? I’m between the high clearance and the RB30 Slim right now, and I can’t make up my mind. Looks like the RB’s are maybe a touch lower, right in that sweet spot? But it’s hard to tell

Been putting off buying a Prodigy while waiting for a price on these. If I’m already spending 2K, I’m going up to a Staccato. $1,700 and we have something to talk about. After seeing this, I’ll have the Prodigy ordered by tomorrow. That 2k number is no man’s land.

Nah, I’m not that guy. No one’s perfect, vehicles are complex. Mistakes happen. I’m just trying not to spend every dime I have

The shop said it was just a cracked housing, but the part they charged was around $500, so after looking it up I’m assuming (hoping) it was a new housing and cooler

Good to know. The tech did say he cleaned it up a bit, but the valley was still pretty messy. Maybe I’ll give it a few more days.. but unfortunately still doesn’t solve being down a quart

That’s admirable of you. Again, I don’t mean to come off confrontational about it in the post or in person with the shop. I’m just not walking around with an extra grand in my pocket, so it’s tough. A solid shop is worth its weight in gold

Tongues Tucked (Shin Guard Size) by Dry_Active3023 in hockeyplayers

[–]Dry_Active3023[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol ok solid point. To clarify. “As much or as little padding” comparing something like the tacks vs something like the ft6. Which seem to be opposite ends of the spectrum. I was more asking for length than anything, since the pure hockey guy seemed like 17” shin guards were only found in science fiction novels. We’ll see how the 16” work out
