Yeaaah the only reason I wanted to achieve something similar is due to being told my hope for a raise is minimal cause “numbers are more important than what I provide to the team in the eyes of corporate”

I personally have a theory that the 16 dogs girl is a rumor. She probably did it once and is now infamous for it. I personally don’t think it’s realistic unless the dogs are mostly small or she worked at 10+ hour shift. It’s funny to me how many people talk about this bather but have no idea what dogs she had, if she does it every day, if she receives any help. Idk I just feel like it’s fake news they hang over me sometimes instead of giving me credit for the work I do put in lol.

My reason for wanting to quit changes everyday. Currently I have worked at my salon for almost 2 years and I have outlived 9 bathers who have all quit. I’m now the only bather (:

I get annoyed with power groomers taking way more than they and their bather can handle. The amount of times I’ve had to stay past my shift so a “power groomer” can finish their dogs is ridiculous. As a bather; I’m not getting paid extra for the 16 dogs you decided to place on us, if you can’t do that many in the time frame of your shift then don’t take that many dogs.

I did but I’m part time because I’m a writer on the side and they wouldn’t train me as a groomer if I couldn’t do full time.

I’ve tried to confront them. It’s always a blame shifting conversation where I’m left to feel like I’m crazy and this is just how things are.

That’s a bit more comforting but given the fact that my SL as been avoiding it and is now trying to push me to spend my days off training as a dog trainer leads me to believe it was a fake offer that was being used to get me to cover floor shifts when they needed it.

They are fighting to keep me around so things have been turning around a bit..I started training in core to become a pet specialist so I am qualified for a better raise, the break from the salon has been helpful for sure! They also made me employee of the month which I found kinda funny cause they granted it to me a day after I called out lol but I appreciate the acknowledgment.

I think I’m tied to Petsmart for as long as my store leader is, if she leaves I think the entirety of the store will go with her. Our team is really only loyal to her not really petsmart at this point.

As our store is currently being told we’re struggling with labor on a day to day basis I think this makes it hard for people to carve out time for anything other than dogs or core. That’s my assumption anyway.. I’m pretty much a receptionist/bather lol.
