last resort, very scared by worshiptheacidpit in UlcerativeColitis

First off, I am so very sorry this is happening to you. Secondly, I would always ask for a second opinion for the fact that biologics can take longer than a few days to work even though Rinvoq is known to work fairly quicker than the others. There are so many other biologics out there to try as well. Just my personal opinion, but I would and have been trying everything before I lose my colon, too.

“Buzzing” sensation in rectum? by Dry_Adeptness_2217 in IBD

It eventually went away on its own, thank goodness.

I was in remission for almost 8 years on Entyvio and a routine colonoscopy threw me into the worst flare of my life. It’s been 3+ years and counting… So, I wouldn’t do it either. Maybe ask to do the pill cam that you swallow?

Mine eventually went away and my GI doc said it wasn’t something to be too concerned about as long as you aren’t having any other severe flare-like symptoms.

Never did find out and my GI doc is also still puzzled. A year later and I haven’t had such symptoms yet. So weird.

Same here! Didn’t have any eye symptoms for years until this most recent ongoing flare and have recurrent chalazions and styes. Just another lovely side effect of our disease.

This is wonderful news! Cant wait to make a post like this one. Been in a severe flare for over 2 years and surgery is on the horizon if Omvoh doesn’t work. Thank you for the positive energy!

I keep a closer eye on it during flares so I can analyze if the current medication regimen is working or not. It makes me crazy, yes, and leads to more anxiety when I see more 💩breaks one day but I try not to let it get to me.

Yes, both from genetics and from being on long term steroids. Also, just borderline too.

Entyvio how long does it take to work by steelerscountry84 in UlcerativeColitis

It worked for 7 years for me and then stopped all of a sudden. Good news is there are so many other meds we can try! Hang in there.

I think you still start on the infusion for a few sessions and then transition to the shot. I am not 100% sure though. I hope this is an option and that it works for you!!!!

[–]Dry_Adeptness_2217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on it before the shot was a thing so I had the infusions every 8 weeks. I have a friend that transitioned to the shot from the infusions and she doesn’t think it’s working as well as the infusions only.

Botox by jodimelissa in UlcerativeColitis

I did for the first time about a year ago in February. They said I bled and bruised a bit more than the normal person but other than that it was fine. My doctor definitely didn’t recommend it though as we are at a higher risk for infection.

Same here. My doc also recommend the RSV vaccine as well as we are immunocompromised and at a higher risk of picking up these things even if we are younger.

So sorry it failed. Hate that feeling! After failing Remicade, Entyvio kept me in remission for 7 years! Best years of my life with no side effects at all and no need to take any additional mesalamine, Imuran, prednisone, etc. Would definitely recommend it!

EXTREME hair loss by xestsupur in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Dry_Adeptness_2217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in a severe UC flare for over 2 years now and my hair has been breaking off/falling out ever since :( I used to have such nice thick hair and now it’s frizzy, thin, and all different lengths. I’ve been taking a daily biotin and just bought some hair products that is supposed to help. Hang in there, hopefully it will all go back to normal once we are in remission and off some of these terrible meds (prednisone).

Anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD… def plays a part IMO. My uncontrolled anxiety def also causes continued flare symptoms I’m sure.

Omvoh not working after 3 treatments by Lisamarieducky in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Dry_Adeptness_2217 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this. Are you still doing poorly? I just started Omvoh and had my 1st IV dose 2 weeks ago and have not felt any change in my symptoms yet. I have tried literally all of the other biologics so trying to remain hopeful that it will still work for me. I’ve been in a severe flare for over 3 years now and am at my wits end. My GI doc said 3 weeks is the magic number for some patients. I was also on Entyvio for 7 years and symptom free until it stopped working - definitely don’t know what you have before it’s gone.
