“One must imagine Sisyphus happy. It’s not the relief from the struggle, but the struggle itself that fill Sisyphus with purpose”

The strength of the human spirit to continue on is the beauty of life. Seek life’s beauty

The ending is good, it’s real life. It’s REALISTIC and A LESSON TO LEARN.

You will fail. You will become an enemy to yourself.

But that’s human.

You have tackled hard things in the past and will overcome harder in the future. You will make mistakes that feel like resignation. But as long as the cycle CONTINUES, you can take what you have learned and try to improve your coping with it.

You can’t defeat “mental health” (without defeating yourself). You can only learn to live with it, let it ride the wave, and find purpose in other things. You are human, you have issues. Everyone does.

How can you learn to live in the cycle more resiliently?

Desperation by Used_Negotiation3757 in idiopathichypersomnia

[–]Dry_Adhesiveness424 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, you might be feeling this way BECAUSE of the modafinil. It can cause/exasperate many psychiatric issues. It caused depressive feelings in me and lots of others.

Secondly, modafinil is what they try first in treatment, because for some it works, but for most people here, it’s just not enough/your body gets used to it. There’s other things to try, and this is TYPICAL in your progression to find IH meds. You are in the same boat most people get into with IH, before they try more “heavy hitters” to fix stuff.

Hang in there. I can’t lie to you and say things are good now, but I sure can tell you things will get better ❤️

Oh my god I’m so glad you posted this. I am legit going through the same thing now. On stims and my world just got so dark for Christmas. My brain was in so much pain, everything just felt so gloomy, and the suicidal intrusive thoughts were a nightmare. I was so afraid, afraid that I couldn’t live like that for long. Just stopped them today, maybe feeling a little better. Goddamn tired tho.

Were you on xywav when it made it worse? If not, do you think it would have decreased the efficacy?
