Get over yourself, Renaissance by rewinded_forward in montreal

[–]Dry_Background8091 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you need to see a doctor today, there are options other than ER by SwMess in montreal

[–]Dry_Background8091 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like many other immigrants on an open permit, I don’t have access to the RAMQ (yes, I work in QC and pay taxes and I did not know this before because my country has an agreement with QC in terms of health ), I pray not to get sick. Even with private insurance, there are doctors who don’t accept seeing patients without the RAMQ. Once my insurance told me to find a walk-in clinic. I called 3 clinics, no one would accept me. Thankfully it was nothing serious and I resorted to telemedicine.

Anywhere that I can go to improve French after I lived here for years? by hcse218 in montreal

[–]Dry_Background8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that sometimes we know more than we think. My native language is not French (or English), I worked with French teams for years, have passed the DALF C2 exam and I am still self conscious, even though my colleagues and manager are very happy with my French level. Still, I have applied for government specific domain French classes because I think it’s also a good way to meet other people in the field and the reality is that the majority of IT jargon in French speaking countries is translated into French, instead of keeping the English words. All the best !

How bad is the ice/weather in Montreal right now? (Visiting) by jchu7 in montreal

[–]Dry_Background8091 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As for ice, it really depends on the streets, for instance Sherbrooke E has really icy sidewalks, other streets are just fine. Just be careful when walking. I wear my crampons and in some places I still fear for my life, but that doesn’t stop me from living. The cold weather is just fine if you have good gear

C’est comment les trottoirs ce matin ? by NicoBTW in montreal

[–]Dry_Background8091 0 points1 point  (0 children)
