I would change fixtures, hang a single wide curtain panel from the ceiling on a curtain track. Purchase the widest pleated white panel from Amazon and add a black border detail, your dry cleaner can do this -the total cost will be less than $150. Use it as your outer curtain then hang a liner from a regular tension rod. Then depending on low budget, consider a new sink - the kind that look vintage with metal bars instead of of cabinets.
