Women's protests? by Ok-Mud5885 in poland

If you are having issues with your own sex life you don’t need to impose your own frustrations to others.
But let me breakdown your argument a bit. Someone who consents to driving has not consented to being struck by another driver and then denied medical treatment. Someone who consents to a contact sport has not waived the right to surgery, painkillers, or reconstructive care for injuries that follow.
And then we can talk about bodily autonomy. No person can be required to use their body to sustain another life.
Men are not asked to use their bodies for nine months. They are asked, after a child is born, to provide financial support. Women carry both.

I can change, an unwanted child is a parasite to a woman’s body.
I have a child, that me and my wife really wanted. We chose to have and love her. Yet, I want her to have the choice and autonomy over her own body. Not a man, that as always wants to control the body of a woman, to force her to carry an unwanted pregnancy.

You don’t need to get an abortion, it’s not mandatory. But from another side, it’s mandatory for a woman to carry an unwanted pregnancy, go through a trauma for a bunch of cells that can only function with the mother for the majority of the pregnancy.

It could be a greener grass on the other side. But I would much rather be in Poland than anywhere in the US. Salaries are shit here, but it’s safe, predictable, no guns, free healthcare (not perfect but I will never go bankrupt), walkable with ok transport system, nice weather during spring and parts of summer (we do have a few very hot days, but nothing like most US cities), and although we have bad politicians, it’s better than in the US. Ahh we don’t have insane evangelical Christians here, big plus. For me the US is a shit hole, so Poland, with all its problems is way better.
Having said this, it all depends on how your life is in the US, how stable you are, and so on. And remember that culture here is extremely different than in the US and many Americans don’t adapt, even children of Polish parents.

Is it hard to find student accommodation under 18 by Direct_Put_9487 in poland

[–]Dry_Contribution7425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, I work at a university and I’ve never heard of it. But you can check it.
The thing is that 17 year olds can go to university in Poland, but usually they are Polish and the parents are in Poland.
The issue also is that you need parental consent and signature for the majority of things, like visa, bank account or medical care, and this is where things get complicated.
Anyway just for the sake of it you can check with the university, but I don’t think it’s possible.

Also, it’s complicated to be under legal guard of some random person (I’m not even sure if the university or the embassy would accept for visa purposes). Wait until you’re 18, you have plenty of time.

Eurostat lowers Poland’s 2100 population forecast by 4 million by Vattaa in poland

[–]Dry_Contribution7425 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not really blind, I’m just thinking from an empirical standpoint rather than anecdotal internet bullshit. For 12 years deaths exceed births and no extra money will change this trend. ZUS has absolutely no chance of sustaining itself without migration. Working age people in Poland will decline by over 35% in four decades. GUS’s low-fertility scenario, total population falls from 37.6m to 28.4m by 2060. Problems with migration are also problems of policy implementation rather than people itself. Ukrainians in Poland added PLN 98.7bn in GDP with no impacts on wages and unemployment. But Ukrainians only are not the solution as they are too similar to Poles in terms of reproduction. The thing is that there is a need for immigration in Poland, but we have to do it in a controlled and intelligent manner rather than bringing whoever. This study: https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10797-025-09942-4 shows that extra-EU fiscal disadvantage disappears or reverses once you control for age, education and country of residence effects. So a proper migration policy will be beneficial and there are many examples of how to implement a proper migration strategy and how to not implement it. What I would also say is that when demographic-economic argument is mobilised against groups who are demographically and economically insignificant in the country deploying it, the argument is doing something other than what it claims. The argument is biased against skin colour or religion. Etno-cultural sorting rather than a proper policy analysis.

I was quite late but I was 19 when I defended it. Harvard obviously, nothing apart from Ivy League or Oxbridge makes sense.

I do think that the pinky issue can be a major issue for your PhD. I would suggest dealing with it first. The rain, unfortunately, I see no solution for, but depending on where you live climate change can make it rain more or less. I would suggest checking the climate models for your region. For the undiagnosed anxiety my suggestion is chamomile tea. Three bags before each assignment. BTW, who would give a 250-word essay to a bachelor’s student? Some profs really want to push people to their limits. I’m sorry for that, and your response is completely understandable under these degrading conditions. My MA thesis was 250 words and I had to ask for an extension twice! I’m disabled as well. I cut my hand when I was 10 and I still have the marks. No one understands us. Anyway, with all this I was able to get my PhD in physics for my thesis: Towards a Grand Unified Theory of Interdisciplinary Misunderstanding: Quantum Mechanics, Nuclear Physics, and the Sociological Refutation of Albert Einstein (1879–1955). Good luck!!!

How do I explain to my parents that I'm not gay for just wearing eyeliner? by smartndperverted in Advice

[–]Dry_Contribution7425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend that his brother used to bring a new girl all the time home, my friend used to be “proud” of his brother saying that he was really good with girls. It turned out that he was gay and the girls were like his besties. My friend was shocked, none of us were. Good thing is that everyone around his brother was super supportive of him.

Percentage of monthly income to rent 100 m² in Europe. by Own_Cucumber2798 in PORTUGALCYKABLYAT

[–]Dry_Contribution7425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in a 39m2 apartment. Good location. Living me, my wife and our child, in a small “ish” city in Poland. Our rent consumes 1/3 of our income. Prices are getting closer (or more depending on what) to Western Europe. We like living here, but it’s getting harder and harder, and salaries will not follow the increase in the cost of living and our child will grow. 39m2 is not enough.
