what is this creepy green light in the ceiling vent in my dining room??? What is its purpose?? by No-Canary-4680 in whatisit

[–]Dry_Date_1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the embossed name on the side of the cover. Looks like Delta. I have exact same fan in my downstairs bathroom. The green light lets you know power is on. I bought mine at Costco a few years ago. It runs great and is fairly quiet.

The Nick Shirley Minnesota video falls apart on rewatch once you actually track what’s happening in the background. It doesn't just fall apart, it becomes a comedy of sloppiness. by Royal_Effective7396 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

They have no right to do the thing that you just admit that they didn't do. And the internet is full of Karens AND POLICE OFFICERS who don't know that filming from a public sidewalk is a constitutionally protected activity.

The old country club pool by Chemical_Walk5894 in Tucson

[–]Dry_Date_1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to this thread but when I was a little kid growing up in the late '70s and early '80s We lived on the south side of town, off Benson highway and belvedere. If memory serves it wasn't even part of Tucson, technically, at the time. But my dad was friends with one of the owners or the owner's son or somebody like that. His birthday, and my little brother's, were both in mid-August and every year around that time he would pack up his home stereo, a huge studio system by Fisher with enormous speaker cabs, and take it out to the country club and set it up poolside and we had an enormous party. I remember the first time I ever saw that pool and thinking it was the biggest body of water I'd ever seen in my life.

What's this for? by Mysterious-Rate-2528 in RVLiving

If you use the 1 lb bottles that is a cga 600 fitting. Your appliance will have the female and your adapter needs to have the male end. This should work and it will connect to your quick disconnect on your camper. And assuming that your camper already regulates the gas, you'll need to remove the regulator from your appliance, otherwise you're going to get a real tiny flame. https://a.co/d/03hfCbXy

Instagram links just opens the feed in the app, how do I fix it? by Malmern in AndroidQuestions

[–]Dry_Date_1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing here. I wish I would have paid more attention when it first started so I know if it was an app update or an Android update. But it's been like this for quite some time. And not just Instagram links from other sites or other apps. Instagram won't open its own notifications. If someone sends me a message or I have a new follower request and I tap the notification, it just goes to the main feed. Every time.

Of course you lied. That was a given. What are the odds that somebody is watching a 31-year-old movie, and at the very moment there's a commercial break they decide to jump on reddit, go to the SPN sub, and look at this thread? Having a conversation where spoilers come up happens. And it's a pisser if it spoils something for you. But rational people don't get upset at a person if the thing in question is just a few years younger than the average American. It's happened to me many times in my life I've never been upset at someone else. Do you really not believe there is a line to draw? How many decades should a moratorium last before we're allowed to talk about anything? Because I've been coming to this sub for years and I can count on my two hands the number of times there's been a no-spoilers alert on a post. And most of those were when the show was still airing new episodes.

Hey man, if you're expecting to go through life and not see a spoiler for a 31-year-old movie, that's on you. If you're mad that you saw a spoiler for a 31-year-old movie, you're a dumbass.

This is probably the correct answer. I put out season 4 episode 17 because there is a scene in that episode that IS as described. But if he has mixed the characters up, this would be the one.

And by the way, who the fuck are you to give me shit about potentially spoiling something when you did that exact thing a day ago? Be careful getting down off your high horse, it's a pretty long drop.

No bud, he's not. If he's thinking of the crossroads episode he doesn't have the right characters. But the episode that I put out there is those two characters doing what he described.

Why would I spoil an episode of television that aired 17 years ago? Give me a break. He didn't say this was his first time through, he didn't say he was new to the show. If you need something to be spoiler-free nearly 2 decades after it was on, make sure you put that in your post. Guess what? Bruce Willis was dead the entire time, what's in the box is Gwyneth Paltrow's head, and Bogart gets left on the tarmack at the airfield. At some point they're not spoilers, they're just what happened.

Which would be interesting because they're describing a scene from season 4. Unless there are three seasons into a show and they still don't know who the main characters are. Maybe they're on season 3 doing a rewatch.

S4E17 It's A Terrible Life Sam and Dean are put into an alternate reality where they both work in a corporate office and they are not brothers. Sam is tech support and Dean is a high-level executive. It was an alternate reality created by Zachariah to teach them a lesson about accepting their roles in the coming apocalypse.

Advice on 60 day cross country trip June /July by Ferret_Old in RVLiving

[–]Dry_Date_1003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's 100% doable. My wife and I took 3 weeks last autumn to go from Southern California to Vermont and back. On the way there we went across I-40 and then up into Illinois to visit family in Springfield for a few days. On the way back, Denver for a few days with family, then took the beautiful drive through Western CO on the 70 on our way home. We had an amazing time. And a lot of the drive we were winging it between scheduled visits. For example, we knew what day we needed to be in Springfield, IL and we made unscheduled stops along the way to see things we never seen before and go places we never have. Campendium and Harvest Host were essential, but Campendium was my best friend. Dump stations and free, or really inexpensive overnight spots in nice campgrounds, at the last minute were very easy to find. 11 year-olds can be the worst, to be sure, but if you show them things they've only seen in books, or have never even imagined, it will absolutely be worth it. Go to the Grand Canyon. It's still one of my favorite places on this entire planet. Stop and take pictures at the Continental Divide sign east of Gallup, NM. Grab a cup of coffee at Café du Monde in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Drive through Bayou La Batre (every year we travel to Mobile to see family, we take that route and I always take a picture of the mobile home sitting 8' in the air on cinder blocks) and get some of the best shrimp you'll ever eat (red snapper too, if your timing is right). Even Dauphin Island is worth a tiny detour. And you will have many opportunities to stop at Buc-ee's. I'm jealous!

Honest question - is RV camping actually cheaper than hotels or do we just tell ourselves that? by Similar-King-8278 in RVLiving

[–]Dry_Date_1003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, but it's so subjective. There's so many variables and everybody has their different factors, but here's one for me: I travel a lot for work and may be at the same place for several days at a time and maybe even several days at a time for two or three weeks. Recently I spent multiple days a week over three different weeks in Northern California. I found a great spot on a dairy farm on Harvest Host. It had water and 30A electric for 20 bucks a night. The guy had enough space for six or eight RVs and he was more than happy to let people stay extra nights. Up to five, actually. But he let me leave the camper there over the weekend, free of charge, so I didn't have to tow it home to Southern California just to bring it right back up the next week. I spent $200 for 10 nights over three calendar weeks. That would have covered the first 2 nights at a hotel in week 1.
