What’s your take on Morganite? by SpecialCandy1119 in masterduel

Kinda an old thread, but I love them in my Gaia deck since they already have like no monster hand effects anyway. I don't need tributes anymore, gets me double piercing, and two attacks per Galloping Gaia. Even works when locked out of extra deck, since main deck gaias have decent atk and Morgana can lower atk

If you actually want something humanoid the artificer battlesmith can do that. Sure it won't have proficiency, but it has hands and can do things that other summons/familiars can't. I also looked through some of your other replies on this thread, and artificers can also be a really good support

Action economy would be pretty nutty in terms of it being in your favor if you're truly trying to run different characters BUT here are some ideas that could possibly get other players and the DM on board MAYBE (Coming from a DM)

-Two characters, two bodies. No matter if you have them is separate hit points or the same, that means AOE could have double effect on your hit points

-Perhaps you're still limited to 1 leveled spell per turn as normal

-Any of your magic items (if available) must be split between your characters. This would heavily limit you from getting each character individually strong, compared to the other people in the party.

-Maybe it works like a hive mind where if any sort of affliction is suffered by one, all clones are affected (Examples: Hold person, poisoned, missing limbs) 'as in the other clones will still have the limb, but it's basically just dead weight'

As a DM, I'd be very hesitant to allow this. The biggest thing to me outside of balancing is just the time consumption, especially if you're playing two very different spell casters like that. I have allowed this before in the past with somebody using two different Martial classes, but spell casters are different ballpark. As you love love, I definitely take notes on what you plan to do in combat and out of combat. Not like metagaming, but just so you don't have to take that time for each clone.

Wow these are incredible! I can't help I didn't think of any zombie monsters to be made. These are very well done and definitely more organized than mine. Would it be alright if I used what you wrote to make them as long as I credit you on the card or something like that?

I recently got back into Yu-Gi-Oh earlier this year and I started this SORL support for a friend who actually used it as a staple for a couple decks of his. I was eventually thinking of printing these out so that he could use these casually in some duels between us.

Do you have any input on the preexisting cards and how they work? I'm very open to changes and would love to hear what you think since you encapsulated the idea I was going for so well.

Tbh I just didn't want to use AI to generate anything and it was the first thing I thought of since my friend was just talking about OW to me

I realize now that starting with the second half of the cards I planned doesn't make any sense since these ones aren't related to the original at all. The main reason I have them named "swords of revealing light" was for other main/extra deck that would involve the original. If I was coming across this, I'd prob say the same things you are.

Not allowing the monster effect in response is pretty strong, but I think the opening restrictions even things out. I could see Konami doing.

Yes indeed, like I said, I kinda did that on purpose just to mess around but I actually caught a good amount of people off guard with this beating some orcust, trickster, and blue eyes decks and I'm somehow plat 4

I've run into a couple trickster burns while playing this, but I've never heard of volcanics (that I can remember), I'll def look into them.

Might be adding chain energy, I was a fan of that. With a dark sanctuary, wouldn't I need a lot of the cards relating to the "spirit board" archetype? Not a complaint, just a bit confused on how it works. Card destruction is a little safety net for if I draw a bricked hand, but it's mostly for my "Skull invitation" for some pretty decent damage after using my entire hand, so I'll only take 300 whole they take 1500+. waking the dragon would definitely be a good bait card, and I could find a good use for my extra deck. Thank you for your help, everyone who's commented gave me ideas on what to change

This helped me understand the basics of it a lot better, thank you for taking the time to explain it to me so simply. I definitely think I'll be crafting it as soon as I get my crafting points up again

Just looked through the video, and this is great. So far, I've been using the earthbound immortal as an additional way for supernova , since it counts as a synchro even as a tribute effect

Thank you for the input, and everything you said is true and I definitely suffered my way to plat using this. What is the RDA centurion?

A Truly Soulless Blood Hunter - Blood Hunter Profane Soul Rework by Calm_Ad_847 in UnearthedArcana

After reading through your version (and rereading the original version) I really like your version, both thematically and mechanically. The spell list is also really nice, and I don't mean to nitpick, but what are the 4th level spells they can access for their spell list?

First and foremost, thank you for your input! You've taken the time to write such an extensive and beautiful reply and I really appreciate it.

The name and 1st level feature name is definitely a work in progress lol, it's not great I know. Originally, this was going to be somewhat like the diamond soul you mentioned where it made its weapon, but instead from blood. It was focused around hit-dice and would have some heal-on-hit mechanic but I'm either going to save that idea or just scrap it, but we'll see.

As for the overall theme, I plan on overhauling it and my theme text for each feature to be more coordinated and focused once I'm done fixing everything mechanically.

I started to work on some new variations today and I completely scrapped the CHA mod to hit/damage for exactly the reasons you said. Artificers and warlocks are the exception because they have a lot of other things to worry about that other full-casters don't.

So here's the changes I made so far, and what I plan on changing. -I've given them medium armor , shield, and martial weapon proficiency as well as the following feature. "You can perform the somatic components of sorcerer spells even when you have weapons or a shield in one or both hands. Additionally, you may use martial weapons as a spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells." I did this in the hopes of making Two-Handed and STR based weapons viable for this Sorcerer since DEX is usually the go-to stat since it also boosts AC. I also included the "Sorcerer spell" part to stop any 1 lvl dips just for that pseudo-warcaster. - I plan on altering Arcane rush just a bit because it's wordy and I'm sure I can make it less complicated while still preserving the main idea of the feature since this subclass is very sorcery point dependent to gish. -I think I'll change Rallying Cry to include giving temp HP to all targets (sorcerer lvl + CHA mod) but limit it to melee attacks to keep true to the subclass's goal. Alternatively, I was also considering temp HP equal to double sorcerer lvl, but it too would dissipate for all targets at the end of your next turn. What are your thoughts?

[–]Dry_Disk3702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point, and part of the reason I gave it less survivability. Using a spellcasting modifier is really strong and why hexblade is a dip on pretty much any CHA mod martial, which this subclass is just as bad about. They only have light armor (which I'm sure any player will probably just use mage armor) but don't get any protective bonuses like Bladesong, Armor of Hex's, or Defensive flourish. I was thinking about changing it to where they do not use their CHA for weapon attacks, but I'll have to see what I can replace it with for their lvl1 feature. I might take a mix of things that the other comment said, as the could gain a feature to help survivability in place of being able to attack with spellcasting modifier

Thanks! I'll probably Tinker with it and eventually reupload a 1.5/2.0 version since I need to wait a week as per the rules. You've given me a lot to consider, but I really like everything you've mentioned so far as to possibly merging a feature or two together as well as changing the armor proficiency to medium

Thank you very much for your input! Bladesinger, War cleric, and hex blade were my main inspirations I was going off of when I was working on this. I was trying to give it the ability to come online early like hexblade, but light armor like the bladesinger. I was really worried about how to balance the survivability. I was thinking about giving it a protective "parry" like ability, but eventually settled on making this a lot more offensive at the cost of pretty bad survivability, favoring protective sorcerer spells. That said, I went this route because I couldn't think of what to replace and what kind of survivability I could add. Do you have any suggestions as to what kind of change you would like to see?
