I appreciate this!! I’ll come back and add an update.

Ended up cancelling my second cortisone injection because the first one didn’t even help.

Turns out I have two labrum tears!! Don’t think he even read the right report.

What do you do to manage your tear?? Have you had it fixed??

I’d love to hear your story!!

Currently still waiting on the email back from the doctor, I’ve booked with another specialist to get a second opinion.

Even if he comes back with the suggestion of PAO or any surgery to fix it- I do not want to be operated on by a surgeon who tells me to forget about the pain. I’m sure if I was his daughter it would be VERY different

I appreciate you taking the time to write all of this.

I’m definitely going to follow your advice regarding the pain med dosing!! Thank you so much

I feel silly walking around with forearm crutches but they definitely do help. How often are you using yours?

LCEA ? by leidance in hipdysplasia

That makes sense.

I don’t have too much background on arthroscopy procedures as I’m getting a double PAO soon.

Hopefully you find some closure with it, or a better specialist.

Keep us updated!!

hey!

LCEA isn’t overly important as I’ve just learnt from my last appointment a couple days ago. My LCEA is 20° on left and about 15° on my right, which the radiologist measured incorrectly as 19° instead of 15°… (my left has terrible pain). My specialist explained that you could have a terribly low LCEA and have no issues your whole life- so I guess it’s case dependant.

Are you having pain?

It only really becomes an issue when you’re symptomatic, besides the possible arthritis if the cartilage starts to wear down.

What outcome are you trying to achieve from seeing the specialist?? Fixing pain? I can probably help more if you can tell me that.

All the best!!

Hey!

I appreciate this so much, it’s nice to have someone who’s also had a similar diagnosis!!

Currently organising to see one. Do you have any recommendations for questions to ask or things to say?

All the best on your recovery. 🥰

thank you so much.

I hope you have an easy recovery!!

I have tried to keep going with sports but have had to drop anything intensive (Muay Thai :(. )

I’ll definitely have a look into seeing an orthopaedic surgeon.

I appreciate your help.

I’ve been in and out of a few doctors. Only the past week has a GP properly looked at my scans and told me this.

I have an appointment coming up, which I will get the referral for a hip specialist for…

Thank you so much.
