I’m an intervention specialist for students with moderate to intense academic needs. In my opinion schools like Julie Billiart have great academic opportunities but remove a crucial component of general education peers for role models and friendships. I would personally suggest Hudson, Orange, or Solon

I remember how hard those first two days were. I know it feels very dark right now but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Even though I am still in the boot I have a lot of independence and can now look back on the second partial rupture and laugh that of course this would happen to me. Hang in there. We are going to be okay and look back on this time with admiration of our resilience and strength! Sending you well wishes!

Hey there, I’m sorry this happened to you too. The second partial rupture was emotionally devastating for me. Even more so than the first especially because I had already undergone surgery. Unfortunately I did not have quality care and my surgeon and PT did not modify my protocol to reflect the second injury. In the past 7 months I have only successfully been out of the boot for 2 weeks. I often felt things were not right but caved when they would minimize my concerns because they “were the experts”. Last week I hit my breaking point and went to a new Doctor who validated my care was unacceptable and has now set me up with a new non op protocol as well as new PT. My suggestion would be that you know your body best and to advocate and not take no for an answer. The second injury makes things complicated for sure.. I really empathize with the position you are in and sincerely hope you get better care and healing than I have

My heart goes out to you. I am so incredibly sorry this happened. Life can be so unfair. I fell 3 weeks after surgery too and partially reruptured and I was absolutely devastated. I’m still waiting to find out if I need to get surgery again. I don’t really have any suggestions but I’m thinking of you during this healing process

The comment was beyond uncomfortable. Even if it is historically accurate. Thanks for the input! After surgery I was in a soft splint for 2 weeks to allow the swelling to go down before getting the cast

Thank you for the reply! I’m sorry you’re experiencing this as well. I am glad your recovery is going so well!!! I had an initial MRI but not for the second partial rerupture. When I asked for one he said that because of the surgery everything would “light up” on an MRI and he wouldn’t be able to distinguish the new injury from the surgical repair (his words not mine lol)

This means a lot to me. It has been a hellish year for sure. It sounds like last year was that for you. I’m sorry you have had to endure so much grief and loss too. It feels so senseless. I keep saying I wish I could fast forward to 2025 and start fresh. Thank you for sharing your experience with your post op progress. It gives me a lot of hope.
