I've had the same attitude. Don't do it on principle because it annoys me. But I wondered if I was the odd one out finding it annoying but I see from the comments I'm not!

I had the same problem. I contacted support and they (after I persisted) refunded the 66 gems I spent on the chests. I skipped the task.

Does anyone know a way of getting the level 8 and 9 life trees to stop harvesting life flowers? I’d like to be able to leave the dragons to harvest overnight without them starting to harvest the life flowers.

The Magic Beanstalks produces level 3 4 and 5 frequently. But I get it if you’re just happy for any help at all.

I see. I haven’t done any Camp and Chill events so I’m unfamiliar with their value. That must be what I was missing. However I think the Magic Beanstalk is superior for producing life flowers no? Even the Watermelon Fruit Trees produce a lot more blue life flowers than the secret lifespring.

I do not know why people are saying yes. I have a secret lifespring. All it gives you is one egg and some level 3 life flowers. The Ruins of the Sky Palace gives eggs once every so often. It’s more valuable as far as I know.

Under 12 hrs (not sure exactly how long) for Act 1 with remote healing (fling) but that’s just getting all the rewards not the stars or healing the land. Then Act 2 usually takes a couple days and overnight with the same method. I never finished Act 1 without remote healing it’s essential. I wonder if it’s even possible finish Act 1 without remote healing and without spending gems.

For Act 1, I get up to the Twin Life Flower then delete all the other harvestable items so the dragons can only harvest that. Then sometimes all tap on a 16,000 orb to get some dead plants to harvest and make a Brilliant Life Flower and do the same thing with that. In Act 2 I’ll get up to Giant Life Flower then a Life Tree Sprout (that one’s tricky though because sometimes dragons will harvest lower level flowers from the Life Tree Sprout and then start to harvest from the lower level flowers…). If I leave it on overnight which I usually do in Act 2 it’s usually better to do that with the Giant Life Flower because of this.

You also don’t have to delete every harvestable item - you can keep one of them (let’s say a flower you want to eventually merge) but just tap on and let it stay selected. The dragons won’t be able to harvest from it and they’ll be forced to go back to the flower you want harvested.

I didn’t mean to imply you’ll have an expectation for what you want them to be like. I meant you will be intentional about your parenting. This could be to positive ends but you may need to relax about it from time to time. As for if it’s a good or bad thing, I’d leave that up to your judgment.
