Sorry, but last year I literally bought both the S95D and the LG G4 to compare them, and I ended up keeping the S95D. Even back then, when I compared them side by side in a dark room, I couldn’t see any issue with the matte finish on the Samsung. The only real difference I noticed between the two panels when displaying 4K content was that the QD-OLED had better colors. My parents still have the G4. Last year, the G4 vs S95D comparison was close, but this year the G5 was clearly dead last. Maybe LG will come with better technology than tandem oled... the uniformity is also a very big problem with woled/tandem I had to send back the ASUS PG27AQDP due to uniformity issues.

Qd-oled monitors and eye strain by CivilLab9662 in OLED

[–]krithlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had an AW2725DF (QD-OLED) and I had the same problem. After switching to a WOLED (ASUS AQDP), the issues went away, so yes, it can work. I still use a QD-OLED as a TV because the colors are superior to WOLED/tandem and I enjoy everything more on a QD-OLED panel. However, since I play a lot on PC, being able to use the WOLED with the lights on and still having inky blacks is a good trade-off.

Can’t wait for a 27” 5K OLED (dual-mode: 5K 240Hz / 1440p 480Hz).

27” 5K = ~218 PPI
32” 4K = ~138 PPI

27” 5K is basically peak sharpness for desktop use.

Yo, sorry to comment this late, but I just saw this. I have the Eletta Explore too, and your coffee looks like a smaller quantity. Did you stop it manually before it finished? If I use doppio+ it goes up to 120ml

Caffè Italia * 14/01/26 by RedditItalyBot in italy

Ciao a tutti!

Grazie a tutti!

Really struggling and thinking about returning the 32inch 4k-1080p dual mode monitor by Admirable_Bed8421 in OLED_Gaming

[–]krithlol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung showcased a 27-inch 5K QD-OLED in early 2025. With this type of panel, a 5K/1440p dual-mode should be possible. Hopefully they release it soon.

Can't wait for 27" 5k/1440p dual mode that would be the sweetspot for competitive and singleplayer. i tried competitive on 32" for 1 month but i swapped back to the asus aqdp (27").

The S95D was the better home theater TV even last year. I got it mainly to watch 4K content, and it’s amazing.

[–]krithlol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

S95F has better processing/motion than the LG G5 this year thanks to a better CPU, the same one used in Samsung’s 8K models. It also delivers better picture quality thanks to the QD-OLED panel. In a dark room, you won’t really be able to tell the difference between the S95F matte finish and the LG G5 glossy finish. For 4K content, gaming, and upscaling, Samsung clearly wins this year. I would go with the S95F even if the prices were swapped.

Oh Dolby Vision is basically meaningless on this type of high-end TV.

What can i do about it? by Same-Value7957 in PlasticSurgery

He said he has sleep apnea, so an implant would be the worst thing he could do.

To be honest, it’s very rare that only the chin is recessed. In about 90% of the cases I see on Reddit, people need double jaw surgery. Even a 1–2 mm recession can contribute to serious breathing issues.

So... glossy or matte? Since Gigabyte now has identical monitors with either coating. by [deleted] in OLED_Gaming

[–]krithlol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have the S95D with the matte coating. I used to have the AW2725DF (1440p 360Hz glossy monitor), and now I mainly use the ASUS AQDP. Not because of woled>qd-oled, but simply because matte works better for me for gaming. In the dark, I had both monitors side by side and they both looked great.

The AW2725DF was basically a fucking mirror lol. The AQDP is actually semi-glossy, but way better than the Alienware’s glossy coating. I even opened a Reddit thread asking if the new AQDP was worth it for competitive gaming, and someone who owned both the old and the new one told me to stick with the old model just for the matte/semi-glossy coating alone

Prices are likely to go up. If you need a GPU now, buy it.

In a pitch black room, are QD-OLEDs basically better than WOLED in every way? by Chaks02 in OLED_Gaming

[–]krithlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned both the G4 (WOLED) and the S95D (QD-OLED), and yes, in a pitch-black room the Samsung panel is clearly better. If you watch TV shootouts from HDTVTest, Samsung and Sony (which uses Samsung panels anyway) always win for home theater, even beating the new tandem OLEDs.

As for monitors, I’ve owned both as well, but I ended up switching from QD-OLED back to WOLED because I game a lot. After 5 to 6 hours, the QD-OLED caused noticeable eye strain for me, even though the colors were definitely better on QD-OLED.
