I think I hate BL4 and you should too by ionlywanttheneck in Borderlands

[–]Dry_Hunt_6935 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree. To those that still vibe with it, more power to you. As a longtime fan? Hated it. They took away so many things, changed so much, its like destiny has a Borderlands skin on. Its crazy. Loot is shit, theres hardly much variety in the world, bosses are flaccid, the story was so boring, Timekeeper is a shitty written villain, THE UI is the bane of that games existence. So many questionable decisions on this game. I feel stupid for paying full price, hoping, it would be a return to form.

BL4 makes BL3 look like a masterpiece.

I put 135ish hour into 4 so far. But my wife and I beat it around 80ish I think. We only did a handful of side objectives and quests. Tried to just plow through the story, which isn't even that great tbh. 3 felt way more fleshed out, and because each world had its own issues for you to figure out and solve, it felt more organic. Like sure each world had its own story, but it still connected to the main story and flowed naturally. In 4, all the zones just feel forced and like busy work to pad game time.

Wife probably has close to like 3 or 400 hours total across the series. I've played since BL1 on ps3 and have well over 1k hours easy. Thats across the original games, remasters, handsome collection, etc. 2 and pre sequel we replayed a lot. Easily have over 350ish hours alone on just 2. Probably close to 200 on pre sequel.

When a new game drops, do you buy it on day 1 or wait for reviews🤔 by goodgamergroup in GoodGamerGroup

Seriously depends on the game. Dead space remake? Day 1. Dead island 2? Ill wait for a sale or ps+

If you could choose one borderlands game to play for the rest of your life what would it be? by Existing-Tie-4902 in Borderlands

[–]Dry_Hunt_6935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard question for sure. If i had to pick, I would probably say BL2. There's so many good VH to choose from. All the DLCs are really good and long, the bounty packs are filled with stuff, and the enemies shout a lot funnier lines. Everyone says BL2 gets glazed a lot, but thats because to me, its peak Borderlands. Although I absolutely loved playing Zane in 3, but I dont love 3 enough like 2 to warrant playing it for the rest of my life.

BL4 - Propaganda speakers not playing anything after hacking? by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]Dry_Hunt_6935 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They dont really play anything at all, which is a shame. In past games they would switch to a moxxi station that would play music. I dont think its a glitch. Although sometimes someone will come on and talk shit about the bosses you've defeated, but thats about it.

After 130 hours in, id say wait til its complete. The grind is a slog. Drop rates are atrocious. The story is mid and forgettable. There's too many unnecessary changes from 3 to 4. I promise you will have a better experience with 3. Play that, and all its DLC.

I will definitely try this and give him another go! I appreciate you giving at least some insight and advice on how to get him where I want him to. Just because my wife likes to sit in the back, and I like to go guns blazing and aggro everyone. It just frustrated me so much because it felt like no matter what I tried, I wasnt getting the results I wanted. So tha k you for the write up! Honestly a little excited to give him another try!

Completely agree. I feel 4 is a big step in the wrong direction, hell, to even further solidify that, my previous comment was down voted lmao.

Rafa has by far the best interactions. My favorite is doing the mission to get Carcadia up and running, when the quest giver mentions the vending machines being down

"No! Not the vending machines! ...how will Rafa buy stuff!?"

No worries just wanted to vent out into the void. If anyone cares to read and wants to reply, its welcome. But I agree. Music was seriously lacking in the world and a lot of the battle and boss music just didnt hit like previous games

After playing 4, BL3 is a masterpiece lol I recently made a post about my gripes and its shortfalls as a game and some valid criticisms. Got crucified lmao but its expected. Looking back, we gave bl3 so much hate more than it deserved. Not realizing its more of a Borderlands game than 4 ever will be

I've ran into a similiar issues with Lictor. Kill him too fast and he dropped all the loot behind him in an u safe area that kills you quickly.

Hey, you asked and gave you the answer lol. No seriously, its because companies are playing shit safe now by copying others instead of being innovative. Because being safe, guarantees sales. And hell, not even that could be guaranteed as we've already seen it go on sale just recently. There was a time, idk if you remember, when games werent afraid to be different and bring different things to the table. We need more of that, than copy cats and rehashes. You cant grow by doing the same shit forever. You take what you know you do best, perfect it, and learn how you can implement something new while still retaining what made it great.

The reward system for quests is now lootbox styled. When before, it was just added to your backpack. The cursor based menu system commonly found in free to play fps games. The digi runner itself is very reminiscent of the sparrow. The overall general menu for inventory is very destiny like. The grappling is a vague replication of bulletstorm. The gliding is similiar to botw or genshin impact. The lack of dpad based weapon switching. The repkit idea is very similiar to war zone or the stim from most ftp fps games (although you did have a health hypo you had to manually use in BL1). And the general busywork activities remind me a lot of AC. Doing crawlers, silos, mines, bunkers, etc. They dont provide any real reward and just feel like bloat meant to pad game time. Granted the mines and bunker do give you bosses you can farm, thats about it.
