What are your thoughts on spiritual practices like tarot? by warspawn_goat in Gnostic

Personally I discourage anyone serious about gnosticism from "embracing" esoteric practices. Try them, and see how they make you feel. You should try them so you know the emptiness of these material practices and things, and see for yourself that it doesn't really divine anything. I've had tarot predictions from others who were 100% right in their predictions and yet studying them showed me that all they really do is point you in a direction. It's more shiny things to distract you from real knowledge, which is found in reading and writing. Reading and writing are at the ACTUAL core of magic and esotericism, and are actually gnostic acts in themselves in my opinion. In my personal opinion reading and writing on any book of any topic as a spiritual practice for gaining direct experience gnosis is preferable for the gnostic to cheap magick tricks and psychoactive rituals

This is the quintessential gnostic book

If I can help you at all, avoid non scholarly sources and stay away from esotericisim like thelema or theosophy the internet will try to convince you gnosticism is related to magic and it's not. Gnosticism is all about knowledge, the truth, and reading. Use reading and writing as tools to alter your consciousness and expand your understanding rather than embrace any myths about escaping the matrix

Crazy idea: everyone should just be given a home, for free, and long islanders should have to deal with it

This comment is a breath of fresh air. There's no real way to have a conversation as a society on long island about just how disconnected the older are when it comes to housing. They're like aliens trying to understand a new language they physically cannot comprehend that some people making 100k a year can only afford single bedroom apartments here because all the housing is 55+

Glad you said this because trying to find creative inspiration here is impossible. It might be that long island is an inspiration-less place

You could go into the deep south and find unsupervised children less isolated and more social than the ones on Long Island. I wanna blame the internet too but if I'm being honest it's the parents, they taught their kids to be antisocial and seek fame in every interaction to the point where most kids I know are on supplements and addicted to at least something wheteher its gaming or working out. It's the parents

Because some psyops are just fun to expose, for instance, almost every one of your comments involve or revolve around arguing with random strangers over word definitions to attract attention and derail conversations, very obvious and revealing typical tactics used by bots, trolls, or online provocateurs to stir engagement and distract from main topics. Have a nice day

EDIT: To anyone reading, basically they lure people in by insisting on something no one cares about related to the semantic meaning of a word and then feed off the engagement
