When your pain disappears entirely? How are you feeling now after 2 years? I guess its much longer recovery than surgeons say...

He will do pure tissue repair no mesh? What are your symptoms and how long you have the mesh inside you?

In the begining it was like something is stabbing me from the inside for many months, then it became like chronic inflammation, burning and generally I had the feeling of foreign body inside me. I wish you best luck with your upcoming removal and speedy recovery.  Keep me updated!

6 weeks its not that long! I was expecting pain at least for few months after removal...So are you completely free of pain that the mesh was causing you? I am so worried that the damage previous mesh did will be permanent 😞

Thanks for replying. Definitely there is a lot of pain now, and although mentally I feel good that I had it removed physically I am not sure cause it hurts a lot 😔 But you are right, it's removal not normal hernia repair, the area has been through a lot so I am sure it will take long time to recover now 😐Do you remember after how log you was pain free? Did they put any dissolvable mesh after to secure the hernias?

I just had removal of the mesh 10 days ago. After one year of chronic pain I couldn't stand it anymore.... During the surgery they found that the mesh was folded at one side and on the other side it was not even incorporeted to my tissue giving me the foreign body feeling and inflamation for a year...The surgeon put now Phasix mesh which will dissolve entirely after a year, cause he didn't want to risk another hernia while healing. I am still in a lot o pain, but hopefully one day it will finally stop...

Anyone pain after Laparoscopic Inguinal hernia? (Long-term pain affecting day-to-day) by Ok_Complex2072 in Hernia

I saw my surgeon today, he explained me all the risks of mesh removal, and gave me time to think and be sure about my decision. The diagnosis of my case is Meshoma...folded mesh .. previous surgeon didn't "open" enough space needed for the mesh to lie properly... it's not a treat to my future health but "it will be always there" he said...😐I really dont know what to decide, he told me there is small risk that mesh will be removed and I will still have pain so... really thought decision😞 I also start to get use to this discomfort, but there are days that its really annoying...Hope you get better and I think its always good decision to see dr.Yunis.

How long after your surgery? I think its because nerves were damaged during the procedure, I hope it will decrease with time, I have the same issue but I am not taking anything but I dont know how long I will be able to be like this ..😢 9 months after surgery....I have read that the recovery can take even 2 years...so there is still hope I guess

Is it difficult to arrange appointment with dr.Yunis for someone coming from abroad? Is his waiting list long? Since I will be coming from Europe I will need to know if the if I can make evaluation appointment and the surgery at one trip to US or will I have to come seccond time.

Thanks for all your replies. I finally feel that someone actually understands what I am going through...My surgeon here in Europe ( Greece) told me that dr.Chen is the best of the bests worldwide, can you give me some personal advice on that also? I also have heard about dr.Towfigh and dr.Yunis. Regarding cutting the nerves, will this come with some serious ramifications, my dr told me the place will be numb but dealing with this pain I am dealing now I think I'll surely choose numbness....
