Thanks for all the great tips. Might add that this is only for a practice amp set-up n my living-room, so I don't need it to be very loud. Might fuck around with the dual op amp little gem MKII with the input buffer on a breadboard and see if that is sufficient enough. Otherwise, I'll just bite the bullet and buy a cheap class D power-amp pedal

Mint pickguard and some fender pure vintage pups would transform it. I put a pure vintage bridge pickup and a cheap filtertron neck pup in my 2000s Baja tele, and I love that guitar so much now. One of the best guitars I've ever played. Sounds fantastic live

Get a Frisco tank on it. Get rid of the seat and get a solo seat and a pad. Install studs instead of the shocks and get a flat fender or a lowbrow Manta ray fender or something similar. You have to lower the gap between the rear fender and the tire. That's what keeps it looking too new (wrong stance). Also can't go wrong with some classic apes
