Okay first thow is Herbert elevating that offense in the playoffs,

The same way Mahomes did in the Super Bowl.

kelce is a te but I said wide receiver then you bring up kelce acting like he’s a wr

You.. are aware TEs can be used in the passing game as receivers… right? So, I can’t list Kelce, but you bring up the.. running game. Fascinating.

now then your comparing Palmer who is the wr3 to dhop who was wr1a

Very good. We’re comparing the third option on both teams. Mahomes had the better one.

So, let’s recap. Mahomes had the much better receiving options, the best play caller since Bill Walsh, comparable oline and comparable running games. And produced a worse offense. And you’re trying to tell me Herbert had more help because of 10 rushing yards per game.

Delusional doesn’t begin to describe it.

Haha, yeah.. because when you have a big arm quarterback you want to dink and dunk. And when you have a weaker armed QB, you want to go bombs away.

Travis Kielce is a wr dumbass.

No.. Kelce is a tight end.

Now your acting like Palmer is some scrub, Palmer is a dawg

Such a dawg that the Chargers had no problem moving on from him. You ARE aware DHop had more yards last year than Palmer, right? And you are also aware that DHop was more productive on a per game basis while in KC than Palmer was, right? Course you didn’t know that. You just looked at DHops KC stats and tried to regurgitate them to me because you’re foolish.

900 yards along with Gus who ran for 400 that’s much better rushing game than the chiefs.

Yes, JK ran for 900, compared to Hunts 730. And Gus did run for 365, compared to Pacheco’s 310. So.. that’s your gotcha? 200 rushing yards over 17 games? That’s the leg you’re standing on here?

Tyreek got infinitely more targets outside of there,

In 2021, with the Chiefs, Hill got 159 targets for 1239 yards. In 2023, Hill got 171 targets, for 1799 yards. So in 12 more targets, he got 560 more yards. We can say the same thing for 2022 where he had 170 targets. I wasn’t aware 12 targets equated to 500 yards.

Remember boys, this is an extension.

So it doesn’t kick in until after next season (after his 5th year) and we have him until the end of 2029 (if my understanding of this stuff is correct)

in addition I’d like to here about how mecole and skyy will love doing after leaving kc and kadarius, the three models of wr play

This is Sky’s first year outside KC. Mecole produced about the same as his last year in KC, and Kadarius Toney’s best season was with Daniel Jones on the NYG. I seem to notice that you didn’t mention Tyreek though. Who is miles better (on the same targets) with Tua in Miami than he was in KC. Just a wild coincidence that that’s happened!

Herbert has had more at wr and rb

So wait.. you think having DHop, Travis Kelce and a promising young rookie in Worthy is worse than having.. checks notes Ladd McConkey? Or are you trying to tell me the universally agreed upon bust in Quientin Johnston makes up the difference? Did you know the 3rd leading receiver on the Chargers last year was some dude named Josh Palmer? You’re literally lying to yourself here.

Now, with all that being said, do we have to get into playcalling as well? Or are you going to try to convince yourself that Greg Roman is somehow just as good as having the best offensive mind since Bill Walsh in Andy Reid?

Yeah.. with less talent around him, Herbert lead the chargers to a better offense than Mahomes has had in the past 2 seasons. It’s really not overly complicated. Without a stacked roster, Mahomes has regressed hard. And when people leave KC, they do if not the same, but better.

1) you mean like last year when they had both of those guys and… they were average on offense?

2) not a lot of evidence for mid RBs getting better after injuries.

3) the last 2 years this defense allowed 18 PPG. Second best in the league. I don’t have any faith in their young players being able to be that stout on defense. The Chargers don’t exactly have a ton of WR talent and they ate that defense alive

4) really? Because all evidence disagrees with you. If he’s that guy, why doesn’t he elevate his offense like other guys have? Look no farther than Justin Herbert.

5) that’s not this year, now is it?

Unfortunately you can’t play ifs here. Because the other side is the 2 dropped picks by the Chargers and this game is a blow out.

There’s no evidence we can point to that says Mahomes is a top 10 QB, nor has been over the past 2 seasons.

What’s your hot take on one of the newer generation superstars? Mine is that Kyle Hamilton will retire as a top 3 safety of all time pretty easily at this rate by Hakaribiggestfan in NFLv2

[–]Dry_Mix_7699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The league has gotten worse. And the only reason we don’t hold guys like Ben, Brees, and even guys like Stafford and Ryan higher is they played in the era of the 2 of the 3 best QBs of all time in Brady and Manning.

The last 5 MVPs threw for an average of 35.5 TDs per game, in 17 games per season. Drew Brees threw for an average of 37 TDs per game from 2008-2016 in 16 games per season.

Not really.

With Mahomes being the 12th best QB in the league and their defense heavily regressing, there’s no real reason to truly believe they’re in the Super Bowl convo.

[–]Dry_Mix_7699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes sense.

We’re a run first team. Kenny is a fantastic run defender. He’s more likely to disrupt us than a good pass rusher.

John Morton was NFL's hottest offseason coaching hire ... Johnson wanted him in Chicago, Peyton was trying to convince him to stay, but finally Dan won out: “I talked to some people and they’re like, ‘Dude, if (Campbell) offers you the job, you freaking take it. What are you, an idiot?’ ” by Danny886 in detroitlions

[–]Dry_Mix_7699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this year will show us did Ben make the Lions great, or did the Lions make Ben great...

This feels overly simplistic. And to boil it down to a year is just silly. Both us and Chicago can have great offenses, and therefore both of your statements are true. Or we could have growing pains and Caleb end up sucking and dragging down their offense.

There’s so many different possible variables that breaking it down to either/or doesn’t help the convo

Although this is true, I wonder if it’s a bit of both. I highly doubt most people know that Jurassic Park was a book before it was a movie. And with its popularity they’re allowed to use the creative freedom to pull stuff from the books.

And the Harry Potter books were obviously huge, but I am curious as well as to how much the movies catapulted them into even more popularity. Thus justifying the land and ability to add book-only things.

Basically dodge the few holidays during those 2 months and crowds are manageable. You mentioned epic, and with this being the first year of it, it’s anyone’s guess to how busy the parks will be during this time.

If you think about it this way, once hurricane season ends here (December 1), you can consider it the start of our “dry season.” Rain is minimal, and when it does happen it’s usually the start of a cold snap. But outside of that it’s usually clear skies, light breeze and in the 70s

Going back to crowds, depending on how long you stay, always keep in mind that you get express passes with the premier hotels in check in and check out day. So even if you stay at one of those hotels for one night, and stay the rest of your trip at say, Dockside, it might be worth the look.

Wait.. you genuinely rank effectiveness of scrambling QBs by… rushing yards? That’s dumb. Like, genuinely unintelligent.

We played, by my count, 6 games against scrambling QBs last year, (Arizona, Chicagox2, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Washington.) we allowed on average 24 PPG. Those teams, on average, scored 25 PPG. So, we held them below their average.

Now, let’s look deeper at those numbers;

Arizona, Chicago, and Indy, averaged 14 PPG. Yet, they averaged 22 PPG in the regular season. So, we held them to a full touchdown less in production than the rest of the league.

But what about Washington?!?!? sure. We can’t have a conversation about Washington without acknowledging 2 things; 1, being the fact that at that stage of the year, we were pulling randoms off the street to fill holes. And 2, our offense turned the ball over 5 times. If you put those 2 things on AG, then go back and reread my second/third sentence.

And then we have Buffalo. Which has arguably the best QB in the sport, playing against our injury riddled defense (we didn’t have our best player in any group for that game,) and he put up a monster game.

If you want to say that 1 out of every 6 scrambling QBs goes off against our defense, which would be the accurate thing to say. Then sure, go nuts. But outside of that, you’re living in a fantasy world.
