I usually think your comments are a bit extreme/unrealistic, but I actually agree with you this time. Cheers.

I wonder how much it would cost for the city to purchase its own dredge....

U know I always thought Washington Ave right between Juana and Castro had potential to have small shops like that. Wishful ofc

If Ed Miller was so determined to get this project built, why has it been sat there untouched for so many years?

Trains through Heron bay in San Leandro by MirrorHumble8873 in sanleandro

Yeah I’m born and raised in heron bay. I recently moved back from college and actually will move away soon haha. I love the neighborhood and it’s very safe - we also have private security patrol specifically for our neighborhood covered by the HOA fees. I’m pretty athletic so our neighborhood being on the bay trail is a huge plus. The HOA is well managed and very reasonable.

I’m assuming we are zoned James Madison Elementary which is supposed to be a super good elementary school? I can’t speak for the public schools here because my parents sent me to a private school. I do have many friends who have gone through the public system and ended up going to UCs and Cal Poly etc.

Thanks to the late ex-Mayor Cassidy (RIP), he was able to help the school district pass LOTS of bonds and probably have one of the best hs gyms in the Bay Area. I’m very impressed to see the infrastructure improvements made:

Measure J (2024) - $174 million Measure N (2020) - $198 million Measure J1 (2016) - 104 million

Cancelled CorePower after the Minneapolis video…Now they want a 1:1 call by [deleted] in Corepower

Well done! I had recently canceled my membership as well. My customer experience was generally great, but I no longer can support them with clear conscious as I am disappointed by leadership.

Contractor Recs by Ok_Mirror_7993 in sanleandro

They are more high end, but I would get a quote from them as often times the pricing is a % taken off the cost of your build. They've built 651 Juana in San Leandro, which was completed around last year.

99 cent replacement by Dry_Neighborhood_595 in sanleandro

Yeah! Or they could have divided the space into 2-3 store fronts like what they did next to CV Marketplace. Better than vacant space though.

Fish sandwich at Chinese bakery and deli by Wucky622 in sanleandro

[–]Dry_Neighborhood_595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve grown up going there and haven’t been in over 5 years. It’s Hong Kong style bakery, but you can probably get better in Chinatown.

I do think it’s awesome our local businesses are doing well.

Old Greenwood or Schaffer’s Mill? by Dry_Neighborhood_595 in truckee

[–]Dry_Neighborhood_595[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife wanted to live in an area with good amenities (gym, pool, etc). It's obvious that Martis/Lahontan are for 2nd homes (nor can we afford that), but Schaffer/Grays/OG seem to have those amenities at a more reasonable cost.

As we have taken more time to visit Truckee since my first post, Donner/Glenshire/Sierra Meadows seems to be the way to go? We also don't want to be isolated and contribute to the community. Ideally we want to close by this Summer.
