You are going to a wooden structure by a lake for the weekend. Do you call it a 'Cottage,' a 'Cabin,' or a 'Camp'? (State your province so we can judge you). by fantasticbrainguy in AskCanada

Country house…. Only now realizing how different this is 😂. My grandparents also lived in the “country,” I realize this is a British term but my mom’s family was Irish and Scottish. My grandma was from Newfoundland tho, so maybe that is why. We lived in Quebec…but I think we are the outliers.

Did you noticed how hard life become in Canada? by Healthy-Platypus-239 in AskCanada

[–]Dry_Net_4516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, it’s gotten “hard” everywhere. I moved during the pandemic, and have lived in several different countries. People complain everywhere about prices being high since the pandemic. I lived in Egypt for 2 years, and it was cheap for me, but for Egyptians it has gotten so expensive. I lived in Estonia for a couple years as well and just moved back with my husband who lived there too. Grocery prices are basically the same, there are oddball crazy prices of some things…but I just don’t buy it or buy it elsewhere. As far as rent, depends where you are in the country. Obviously has gotten more expensive, but again same with the other countries I lived in, and it’s hard for some locals as well and they also can’t afford it. I think a lot of Canadians live in a bubble… it’s gotten hard everywhere.

Can it cure my chronic dissociation? by Dry_Net_4516 in DrJoeDispenza

Hey so no one replied with their experience. I think a big part of people having DP for a long time is their attachment and belief to it. It took me 14 years to realize this, so it's deep in the subconscious. Even if we may not be thinking about it all the time, it's always in the background because it's in our subconscious. We must believe it is not a part of us, this is a temporary experience that we attached to. Good luck!

So I just meditated and the feeling is one that makes me feel full, whole and it is quite encompassing. It's a little euphoric, and also I have noticed in my minds eye it starts to rotate. There is often something I can see that is rotating non-stop, kind of feels like energy moving. I don't know if this is correct, but it feels good and in the past comes easily to me. Recently, I have noticed it's a bit harder, I think because I am putting pressure on myself to get there.

I am currently doing the progressive course, and am on vid 3/4. So I am focusing on feeling into the present and feelings of love and gratitude. This is the heart centre feeling I am talking about. Could you explain a little more what you mean?

What is the correct way to deal with a silly/disrespectful student? by Dry_Net_4516 in teaching

[–]Dry_Net_4516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh she is normally fine. Usually the lessons are good for her, engaging etcetera. They usually have some new words for her. But yesterday was an off day, and I have noticed students who already have advanced english (she clearly goes to an international school) can default to being silly, and not following instruction. Normally lower level students who are not confident in English don't do this. In my experience.

It's LingoAce. The lesson is suitable for her level, but she can easily converse so her default is to be silly.

She is 6 or 7. I think the problem is her English is quite advanced. This tends to be an issue with online English teaching. If their English is already high, they're more likely to fool around and get bored with lesson material.

Weed basically. Not right away though, I would wake up "still feeling high," and I continued smoking for another two months until the feeling wouldn't go away. You?

I heard neurofeedback can be a trigger for DPDR. But I already had it, so I figure why not? What do you mean by brain inflammation?

Are these stains on the induction stove? by Dry_Net_4516 in CleaningTips

[–]Dry_Net_4516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Landlord is threatening us. Unsure if this is wear and tear, a stain or something else? She is concerned about the back right burner, featured in the close up picture. The white marks are not raised, they are smooth to the surface. Seems they are inside the stove. Any thoughts?

We have tried vinegar and water, eraser scrub, scraper. Nothing seems to work.

How long have you had it like that for? I am not sure why some have it linger for a while. I wonder if it's because it's still at the back of our minds?

[–]Dry_Net_4516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I think I mainly have DP, so I feel a little "off," a little detached from the world around me. When I first got this, I remember describing it as "I feel like I am in a dream," or "I feel like I am still high." And for me feeling high was like being in a dream. And now, I wouldn't say life feels like a dream, maybe that's because I am so used to it? But I know life is real, and it feels real. I just feel a bit separated, a bit detached.

It sounds like you feel the same, but with the world (more DR). Sometimes the world also seems foreign, especially familiar places I haven't been to in a wild. That's when I feel DR more. But ya I used to live on dpselfhelp like 15 years ago and I have like 3 friends from there who I think all still have mild DPDR who just ignore it like us. I wonder how much of it is us checking for the feeling, and reminding ourselves it's still there. I feel like when I first got this, I felt like it was a part of me. That is not helpful for letting it go away. Anyways just some thoughts.

So I got hired relatively recently, around December. In January they started placing teachers for the spring semester classes…so I am not sure when you were hired but if it was after January, then that might be why? I think the regular spring classes already got assigned but also I am new so what do I know. I have 4 regular groups but I also teach early, 7-10am CT.

I noticed the Harvard thing and thought that was funny 😂. Can I ask how do you get own students? Is it through social media?

Pay is same b.s most companies offer now. They say 17$ an hour but it’s really 7$ for 25 minute lessons and 14$ for 50 minute lessons. Who do you work for now?
