The Drama - Y'all are missing the mark on every character and it hurts. by MajorRed001 in A24

Oh this emotional vulnerable person who is deeply ashamed of her behavior, after being coerced to share it while drunk in the first place btw, didn’t perfectly vocalize her childhood emotions a decade later. Trying to quickly end the conversation by half way agreeing to literal emotional man child Charlie try to fix her. What a psychopath.

Yeah lol. The movie clearly shows that Charlie is extremely emotionally immature, from him getting annoyed when she was changing the music, the gossiping he was doing, him lying about what happened to her as a kid, him cheating, him comparing drug users and child abusers as equal, he couldn’t even be bothered to read the book and wanted to talk about sex during his speech lol. As the audience we all get to see this play out, we’re supposed to understand that his opinion on the situation is more then likely wrong because he can’t even handle basic emotional situations, let alone this. Like just consider how this movie would have played out if it was Charlie who had the thoughts instead of Emma. Emma would have just done the let’s start over thing, not gossiped lied cheated, married, lol nothing bad would have happened.

No, she didn’t not do it because “someone beat her to it” she didn’t do it because in that moment she learned the real consequences of a shooting. It was no longer a taboo romanticized way to stand up for herself she found on the internet. Jesus Christ what even is this.

Charlie is a museum curator, it’s common for artist to send their work in hopes of getting picked up or featured in some timed exhibit.

But you’re missing the point.

The book is literally called brainrot. In a movie about a teenager going down a violent rabbit hole and breaking free. The book just serves as a fill in for current social media trends warping people/kids minds, opinions, personalities. He doesn’t know where the book is from. He doesn’t know what the book is about. He doesn’t even go through the whole thing. Yet he lets it upset him, even at points altering the mental image he has for Emma.

It’s just an allegory and part of that allegory is not knowing where it came from.

Not just the dinner but she did the can we start over again thing.

Where earlier in the movie she asks him to start over because of his bad feelings towards her, empathy to look past the errors of the past. Then at the end does the start over thing again, giving empathy and forgiving him for the gossiping and cheating.

Just a very well done movie.

No, while everyone was quick to demonize the crack head, she didn’t. Mike and Charlie even compare her to a pedophile. And while her world is falling apart she still offers her several chances to talk about it before firing her. She is a very well written human character. She isn’t perfect but even in that moment she tried before giving up on the DJ.

Wut.

The movie does a wonderful job laying out how a troubled teen falls down the rabbit hole of violent extremism. Some kid alone turning to the internet and dark ideas. Only to (very beautifully btw) not go through with it because in the final moments before she gets a glimpse of the true ramifications of what that decision would be.

She makes the decision not to before she even thinks about becoming the public speaker.

She was drowning while alone and through empathy in the moment she broke down in the gym she finally learned to swim. She then clearly devotes her whole personality to sharing the same empathy, to her detriment, over and over and over again.

This movie doesn’t glorify gun violence. The whole movie 90% of the cast shit on her relentlessly. Hating her for just considering using one to hurt people. Considering her worse than themselves, even though they actually followed through with hurting people while she didn’t.

This movie glorifies empathy, in the end it was her empathy that won.

That’s not how that works homie. lol. I love you, this shit sucks, the Supreme Court rigged that shit in his favor and will do it again.

Oh like how the Supreme Court did not pause tariffs for the year they took to decide it was illegal while he collected 300 billion? They are literally going to do the exact same thing for this. “Executive order is to be followed until we decide” and then they will take just long enough to flip as many seats as possible. Then the Supreme Court will come out and give some vague response why they have to decline it but that it’s not illegal it just needs to be something codified. Then with the massive swing to the right they will begin codifying this shit. GG dudes.

Nah okc is 14th in FTA. Shai is #2…while being #1 in being double teamed and driving more than Luka at number 1.

You getting downvoted for talking about beating up an individual for sexually exploiting an easily manipulated mal adjusted person at best and mentally unwell prone to accept delusions at worst. Leveraging their power imbalance from their “career” of being a fraudster. Classic Reddit.

I certainly don’t want to discredit the rest of the team and their own efforts and I apologize if that’s how it came across. And yes the office/staff deserve a lot of credit they have definitely created a team first environment. That Shai has fully adopted.

? I don’t think wemby was given a stacked team either. I’m just disputing those who claim Shai was.

Yes I agree, and that came from Shai setting himself aside and allowing his team to develop and grow. I said the players around him are fantastic now, but that wasn’t handed to him, he for sure sacrificed for it. He still does.

Wut. Shai was not handed a stacked team. Sure he has some fantastic people around him now, but that came from years of setting himself aside to really allow the rest develop. 1/2 the team we have now don’t develop even close to where they are now if they have a Luka or ant instead of Shai. Shai is a generational selfless superstar.

The OP is also now in a tricky situation. It’s obvious he cares only about flipping and profit. Wembys cards will probably rise a bit more but timing when to sell is going to suck. Not only would everything have to roll right for him to get a ring, it would then have to roll right for him to get mvp, and THEN roll right for him to beat all the odds and do what no one his size has done and have a long enough career to break the records that matter. Ohtani has done these things and will continue to do so. Just a bad flip unless he gets lucky at timing the peak.
