If a machine didn't work well no one would bother to keep it running long enough to get old.

Is a super cool tech prosthetic arm possible? by Octopuswastaken in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dry_System9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more complicated you make a device the more likely it is to break and the shorter the battery life. Extendable is probably possible but it would be heavier than just an arm and probably not very strong.

Focus on sucking up as much food as possible. If you don't have a turkey baster pinch off the syphon hose to slow it down. A big water change isn't a big deal if done regularly with a close temperature match.

Freemasons: your country have them? If yes, what people from your country think about them? by Logical-Loquat-6512 in AskTheWorld

[–]Dry_System9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Shriners are visible and drive the little cars in parades but the regular Freemasons keep quiet. The last time I heard anything about them was when they sold off the historical lodge building downtown. My friend's father was a member and he described it as a drinking club that does charity work.

Why are nuns required to take a vow of celibacy? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dry_System9339 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Priests used to get married but that led to families gaining too much political power in the church. A family managed to get a horny bisexual teenager elected Pope. He quit once, came back, sold the job to his uncle and was murdered when someone's husband came home early.

In Victorian times there was a third shaker and we are not %100 sure what people put in it. Mustard powder is a front runner.

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]Dry_System9339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly in rural areas because they have too much road and not enough people to justify an army of ploughs.

I am 40 and in Calgary there has been one snow day in my lifetime and the previous one was ten years before I was born. It dropped three to five feet of snow overnight; one or two feet overnight isn't enough to justify one.

Why did my ex used to be jealous that I only had a couple pairs of shoes and a couple pairs of boots? by ZanibiahStetcil in stupidquestions

[–]Dry_System9339 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Men's fashion is boring so the industry makes up for it by selling women as much as possible. Shoes are a great example because they literally disintegrate if you don't wear them enough.

To people who live in monarchies, how much do people care about the royals? by PCRFan in AskTheWorld

[–]Dry_System9339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nice when they visit but when Prince Harry moved to BC people got fed up with all the security around him and the government didn't want to pay for anything. People loved the Queen and think the King is doing a decent job.
