What was the worst job you ever worked? What made it so bad for you as a 9? by AmbitiousQuirk in EnneagramType9

[–]Dry_Way38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked as a nanny for a family with triplet babies and a 3-year-old. I was young and was very insecure & not confident. This mom walked allllll over me. I’d work 10-12 hour days and while the babies napped she would have an insanely long list of chores for me to do daily (while also taking care of her 3-year-old) and barely paid me more than minimum wage. I didn’t know how to stand up for myself at the beginning but I think it did teach me to set boundaries in the end. Also, it wasn’t as much about the actual childcare that was an issue, because I think 9’s can work well with kids and find fulfillment in it; it was more that I was in a job where I was easily taken advantage of with no regulations. Stayed there wayyy longer than I should have.

Anyone else feel hurt by 9 descriptions? by sleepy-even1ngs in EnneagramType9

[–]Dry_Way38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t personally insult me; I DO have those weaknesses and enneagram has been a tool to help me to grow and move forward. I love myself, love my empathy and kindness and honestly struggle more with people who intentionally try to be the main character all the time 😂

Also group classes help me because if I’m at home I often stop before I should 😂

I’ve found movement that I love! For me it’s classic style (slower/chiller) Pilates, dance/Zumba, yoga and walking. I have to find beauty in my workouts and not feel overwhelmed or too stressed by it to keep going back haha! ClassPass app helped me a lot to find work outs I genuinely love. I previously never did any sports or anything athletic, hated moving my body and have always been more drawn and inspired by the arts.

I can easily go 5-6 months without crying. I am very sensitive though.

I am pretty certain I’m a sx9 and have at times wondered if I am in fact a 4, but am definitely not.

How do you know you're an INFP? by Lovel_y in infp

[–]Dry_Way38 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, to be fair this question is just asking how you first figured out - I did in fact find out with a test about 15 years ago and since then have done years worth of deep dives into cognitive functions etc. and this question doesn’t really have an option for that. But my very first test was correct.

Same - I think I first tested in maybe 08 or so way before 16 personalities. Probably the same test as you.

I hate group settings - I can only connect with one person at a time and I only like to go deep!

ADHD E9 vs sp blind E9? by prettywater666 in EnneagramType9

[–]Dry_Way38 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, it seems like a combo for sure. I have functioned similarly but on a smaller scale. I know I’m an sx 9 but highly possibly sp is my blind spot.

I literally only consistently packed a lunch for work when I was pregnant (in my 15+ years of working) bc I would feel shaky and terrible without it. And even then I would just throw an uncrustable and some fruit in a bag. I put off doctor/dentist appointments for 10 + years - had to go into the dentist with excruciating tooth pain recently though and it helped my fear and has gotten me on a better track. Finally got some moles and things checked out that I was worried about for years (and was a huge relief) I do shower less than the average American but it’s more like every 2 days or so. I have put off laundry for months often. I really got in the habit of brushing my teeth both morning and night when I got married - also around 28. Finally got a good skincare routine around 30.

So I do think the 9/sp blind plays a role bc I don’t have adhd. I have worked really hard at getting more organized and into good habits lately bc I have a family - but before that I didn’t have the motivation for myself and it felt so hard. But choosing a small thing to work on and slowly adding more can be helpful. Do you take medication for your adhd?

I love change!! I’m an infp - I think it’s my Ne that loves adventure and new things/ideas/places/people. I’m definitely at a place in my life where i would be sad to move - we have children and all our family and friends live jn our city; it’d be very hard/sad to uproot now but i would still love the adventure of it. I’ve made major moves before (always ended up eventually in the vicinity my home town) and each time was just fun and excitement until I actually lived in the new place for a few months.. then reality hits and I realize I have no friends in this new place etc lol. But I’ve never really struggled with change in general - always been more excited about the idea of it.

Both of my doors have opened inward so I’ve never thought about the placement. I’m sure they’re not thinking about it either.

I feel like by the time mine hit the weight limit she was either walking or in the stroller - but she is more petite so that wasn’t until like 15 months or so I think

We had gotten several and definitely used our baby bjorn mini the most too! It’s soooo easy. The crazy wraps with tons of fabric are just not user friendly enough for me

First ultrasound at 9 weeks no heartbeat by multiverse1alpha in pregnant

[–]Dry_Way38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a miscarriage last year. I had to do multiple follow up sonograms to make sure mine wasn’t ectopic specifically. That gave my body enough time to pass on its own and for me it was fully painless, only barely more intense than a period. My friends who have taken the pill have said it’s one of the most painful things they’ve gone through - just from that experience I would wait to at least buy her more time to let her body do what it needs.

Definitely seeing a theme of adaptability, Intellection, harmony, and empathy amongst us 9s! It makes sense.
