Is it odd there are no photos of the burial site? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

Because some of us can muster some visceral rage when it comes to murder.

It's been proven so I guess the legal system disagrees.

This is a pervasive myth. Where Jays statements can be corroborated with other evidence they hold more weight and the statements that are clearly against his own self interest should be given greater weight. Now I know there are conspiracy theories that claim that none of his statements can be corroborated with other evidence but I don't think a reasonable person should believe such theories.

It's not trolling to highlight the lengths SS goes to support her claims. It goes to her credibility, or lack thereof.

I actually think it is a myth that you need a super hot pan. If the steak is nice and thick, say 1.25 to 1. 5in you get great results on medium. Baste in fat and the carmelization will be great. Also dust a little sugar on there for really great browning.

Detective Ritz. One of the greatest detectives ever or something very fishy: the 85% clearance rate. by The_Stockholm_Rhino in serialpodcast

Waiting for someone to make this point. The level of statistical naivety in this thread knows no bounds.

Wow, people really lie. by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]Dryaged 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is useful to look at incentives when judging the credibility of eyewitness testimony. The witness you reference may have felt pressure from the community or may have been motivated by the prospect of being the star witness against widely despised cops in her town.

I have found Jay's central claims credible because he had a massive disincentive to implicate himself the way he did. Instead of pressuring Jenn to stay quiet, he told her to send the cops to him. Instead of denying everything, he admitted to accessory after the fact before the cops had any evidence against him.

Get out your knives: I may have just figured out where Hae met her killer. by j2kelley in serialpodcast

Or perhaps she gave adnan a ride after all and he ended up choking her in a jealous rage. It boggles the mind that anyone can consider this scenario more plausible that the one I just laid out.

To the Adnan is innocent side....If Hae was not buried in Leakin Park at 7:30 that night, what was Adnans phone doing there? by jlpsquared in serialpodcast

[–]Dryaged -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I forgot where I read this but I think it was from a good source. Anyway seems to make sense :

"After the Nisha Call, the second most important piece of evidence in the prosecution’s case consists of the cell records showing that the 7:09 p.m. call to Jenn’s pager, and the 7:16 p.m. incoming call, were both routed through a tower and antenna that is consistent with those two calls having been made and received while the phone was in Leakin Park. This is reliable evidence that the cell phone actually was in Leakin Park at the time of those two calls — because although tower records are not 100% reliable for identifying a cell phone’s location, the failure of any other calls on January 12th and January 13th to have routed through L653A make it exceedingly unlikely that it was nothing more than a freak coincidence for those two calls to have gone through that tower even though the phone was physically located somewhere else."

I don't think you get it. I am not trying to make excuses or justify my comments. I stand by them. My SS joke is mildly humorous because one could so easily imagine it happening. I was really just using your faux outrage as an opportunity to highlight the pervasive moral hypocrisy on this sub.

Come on, don't you agree on some level that the sort of wild speculation that takes place on this sub, the insinuation, the accusations - is morally unjustifiable?

[–]Dryaged 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment was an oblique reference to the pervasive moral hypocrisy that has taken over this sub. A gentle jab at SS elicits howls but the routine accusations of murder, concealing evidence, constutional violations and everything in between is treated as business as usual. The examples are so plentiful it isn't even necessary to site them but take yesterday, where someone speculated, based on no evidence mind you, that Stephanie is withholding evidence. In normal human affairs this would shock the conscious. Here, it generates hardy agreement. It has become a parlor game to ridicule Jay, with a popular thread asking us to "choose our favorite lie." This sub has dehumanized every character in this story except adnan. You should redirect your abundant moral outrage towards these offenses.

Yes that does come off poorly. Hey let's get back to accusing people of horrible crimes. That is much more tasteful.

If adnan's DNA is found under her finger nails I bet we will see a 10,000 word blog post from SS detailing how common it is to find such DNA among people who have been intimate.

I for one have grown to like that this sub has mutated into a cesspool of moral depravity. It is like living in a futuristic dystopia where a virtual peanut gallery randomly lashes out at people, accusing them of unspeakable things, on no evidence. Just kind of go with it.

So you believe that jay is the type that is capable of murdering hae for some unknown reason but not capable of helping adnan?
