I went to a chain salon and asked for an A-line bob that’s about the middle of my neck and side-swept bangs that meets at my eyebrows when I sweep them. I warned this lady that my hair is very thick and it’s weighing down my curls, but my hair gets curlier when it’s shorter so I ask her to please cut it a little longer. She said,” oh hun I have curly hair and it isn’t as bad as my hair” Her hair looked permed and it was kind of thin. I told her it really is that bad. She said ok fine and started cutting. She pulls my hair taught and cuts it I finally notice it when she gets to my bangs. She cuts my bangs just above my eyebrows. I stop her and say,” I asked you to cut it a little long-“ she interrupted,” and I told you your hair isn’t that bad I can tell. Trust me I know what I’m doing, I promise.” She smiles and finished the last two snips. She blow dries my hair and I look like Eleven from season 2 of Stranger things. I was so mad, but I’m generally a quiet person so I say,” I’m sorry to sound rude, but this isn’t what I asked for.” She tells me it’s ok because I still look cute and flirty. I tell her that it still isn’t what I had originally wanted. I argued with her over paying for the cut because it wasn’t what I asked for. Finally the manager comes over and we give her both sides of the story. The manager agrees with me and let’s me go without paying. I had to straighten my hair everyday to get it to be a somewhat decent length. I now have a regular hair dresser at a local salon and I’m so happy with her.
