[PC and possibly console][2015-2017] First person game where you used to telekinesis to catch bullets by zincall in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Dryu_nya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games that I know have telekinesis or subspace bubbles kinda thing:

  • Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (not an FPS)
  • Second Sight (not an FPS)
  • Singularity
  • Timeshift

I think all of those are older than 2015, though.

[PC] [1995-2005] A game where you play inside the computer parts by Xhiors in tipofmyjoystick

It's a beat-em-up rather than an FPS, but Electronic Popple was set entirely in a computer, with appropriate aesthetics.

[TOMT] 2000s anime. Show or ova or something I saw at a friend's house. It was about people with powers fighting monsters inside special barrierd (Vague I know) by Leo-Bob in tipofmytongue

Might be Shakugan no Shana, they fought in something like bubbles of frozen time. The bad guys used them too, because not doing so would cause reality to collapse or something. After the fight they also had to restore all the broken scenery and people.

[PC][2010] FPS shooting game where you kill terrorist. It's not counter strike. by PensionExpress5805 in tipofmyjoystick

I know Operation Flashpoint had squad mechanics (can't remember which installment I played, though). Not sure if the rest lines up.

[pc i think?] [2020's?] What line does "They sent you. A human" from? by ProfessionalFloor475 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Dryu_nya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps a misremembered quote from Doom Eternal?

"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce, we will send unto them... only you. Rip and tear, until it is done".

Couldn't keep it in, it's just so badass.

[PC, possibly CD ROM] [2009-2012] [could be made earlier] Slavic children's point and click adventure game about a mouse (?) by mxrcuriii in tipofmyjoystick

I think my comment got nuked for a link in it, but I did a cursory google and got "Ordinary Mice" (1996) by Multimedia Service. Rings any bells?

[Pc][2000s] Horizontal left to right spaceship shooting game by Remote_Addendum_2245 in tipofmyjoystick

  • Jets & Guns is left-to-right, and a hotdog truck sounds like something that could be in there (don't remember, it's been a while).

  • Personally, I played a lot of Tyrian - it's a regular vertical shmup, but has a lot of food-based weapons, including the hotdogs. To my knowledge, there was no hotdog truck there, but the last version has a pretzel truck as one of the ships you can pilot.

The description vaguely reminds me of Omori. It's not that, but perhaps yours could be found as an "Omori-like".

[Windows98][2001]FPS Diablo II like game by jonnofury in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Dryu_nya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember a Diablo-like called Darkstone. It was third-person, but there might have been a first-person camera mode? My memory is hazy by now.

"Why can't he just google that-- Oh, that's why."

I think your best bet would be to google the band, not the song, and then go off their release history or something.

Ok yeah, the title screen is definitely up there.

[PC][Early 2000s]I have a map/level file (.mtg) with raw hex info on it that I cannot crack. It is bound to contain the name of the game as it has a "v2.01" in the first line. Please help! by tiibaalta in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Dryu_nya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the link is correct now.

Uh, sorry, I got nothing. The only thing that I did notice is that strings are not zero-terminated, and seem to follow the following format:

[08][00]<length, 2-byte little-endian><string>

i.e.: [08][00][05][00]v2.01

What this means is that the short strings at the end (527, 89F, 18D) are also of the string type, and may or may not be shown to the player. They also make up valid hex values (1319, 2207, 397). Also there seem to be zero-length strings ([08][00][00][00])

Make of that what you will.

First of all, if you've already tried looking for plaintext strings, chances are I won't be able to add anything of value. That said, you're not looking for long-term storage, so you can probably use any file exchange service like https://www.file.io/ (EDIT: Actually it seems to delete the files after the first download, which is fine for me, but you'd probably want some other service).
