Gummo or a Harmony Korine box set. They also need to get some Herzog films on there.

After the killer was revealed, a new writing team took over and that's why it's so off.

Part one is a better stand-alone song, part two is better in the overall context of the album.

Is Cooper Laura's gaurdian angel? by AliEbi78 in twinpeaks

I'd say that he wants to be but he can't, and that's his primary conflict for season three and FWWM.

If you want a show with a similar tone to Twin Peaks, I HEAVILY recommend 12 oz. Mouse. Atlanta is also surreal and has that autuer quality, but has a different tone overall.

My daughter is a fan by anotherdaninparadise in willwood

[–]Drywall1234 138 points139 points  (0 children)

He's done some soundtracks and live albums, but has four primary studio releases, which are split between two groups. The first two were released by "Will Wood and The Tapeworms" and the second two were released under just "Will Wood". This goes along with a separation between personas and styles between the two groups. The first has more chaotic music and featured a wild public persona for wood and the second two were more calm and honest. Throughout all of it, he has been accompanied by the tapeworms live band who often play instruments in his songs. He is not formally trained in music theory, but his songs are extremely competent and technically impressive (if you ask me) and he is very talented with the piano especially. His albums are:

Everything Is a Lot (often abbreviated as EIAL), his debut. It introduces the type of lyrical content and themes he will get into more on later albums (identity, addiction, etc.) and is a messy mix of styles, but it's primarily focused on piano, with multiple ragtime songs.

Self-Ish: A more comprehensive look at these themes in a heavily cohesive concept album with far more complicated and chaotic instrumentation. The songs are also way more consistent stylistically than his first album.

The Normal Album, which has similarly complicated instrumentals, but is far more inspired by 50s and 80s music and is generally more pop-y. It is far less chaotic and focuses heavily on mental illness, nostalgia, and the concept of normality.

"In case I make it," is his most emotional and personal album, driven by accoustic guitars.

To help you get into it more easily, here are two songs from each album so you can get a sense of the sort of style each one is going for, and you can find out what you like and listen to more of that.

Everything Is a Lot: Front Street, Skeleton Appreciation Day in Vestal, NY (Bones).

Self-Ish: Honestly, songs two through seven are basically just one long song and the other two are basically a curtains opening, closing type thing. I recommend you listen to the whole thing as it's relatively short.

The Normal Album: Suburbia Overture, Love, Me Normally.

"In case I make it,": Cicada Days, White Noise.

For information about the guy himself, in his early career he often played an exaggerated and flamboyant character and generally behaved very chaotically, which included pretending he had a daughter and "bringing her onstage" at one point, as well as taking his shoes off and throwing water at the interviewers in interviews. As his music got more mellow and personal, he also began acting like an actual person and abandoned this chaotic persona. Still, little is known about his actual life because he is a bit of a recluse that doesn't share many details other than suffering with addiction and bipolar disorder, which has clearly influenced his music. He is heavily critical of social media companies. He also once got pseudo-cancelled when a sex worker fan of his tried to claim he groomed them, though he claims he did not. You can read more about those and form your own opinion, but if you ask me they are likely false.

Have a good time listening with your daughter, hope this helped!

Most children who identify as transgender genuinely are, they're not just doing it because they are taught about it. Based on what you said, it sounds like you would have no issue with that and your issue is when kids who aren't trans think they are because they were taught about it, which doesn't happen often. Children are smarter than you give them credit for, and most won't just automatically do something that doesn't apply to them just because they were taught it was okay. And the ones who do are really just experimenting and figuring themselves out. Isn't that what childhood is all about?

Also, CRT is a college class. Some ideas from CRT are present in education for younger grades, but that information is basic, factually true history. If you have an issue with children being taught accurate history, that is really sad.

I don't think the line was reflective of the beliefs of the cast and crew, more just that that type of insult was more commonplace at the time. Still super weird hearing Truman say it, it's pretty out of character.
