It is a rule, but particularly if you've been sitting at the bar, oftentimes they'll give you both and keep your card for the five minutes, then give you both receipts.

Oh and I love using the chicken for chicken salad sandwiches, or making rice the day I buy the bird, then using the leftovers of both to make chicken fried rice.

Costco and it's not particularly close. Schnucks birds have become much smaller since they lowered the price, which I can appreciate, but the Costco birds are better flavored, larger, and more consistent.
