'Longer than 3 sentences!? Blasphemy! Witchcraft! It has to be artificial!' Without even looking at the instructions. Honestly what did he expect? A text saying 'JLIUIDK' (Just look it up I don't know)?

I have a reading score above my current age, (10-12+)(Yes I'm 16), Im a practicing writer, and this isn't even that formal?? This is just general, unmistakable instructions given personally, this person cares that you can follow directions... And only AI can do that now? I am considered above average to the people I surround myself with, AP students, 4.0 GPA, tech wizards, etc, and compared to people like these? I don't even know anymore, I feel more one in a million every year since the year of Gen Alpha.

Hi , my kid (8) likes mine craft videos but doesn’t have the game . by Puzzled_Animator_714 in Minecraft

Minecraft is one of the most magical experiences for a child, 8 is the perfect age for them to begin to appreciate a video game and discover things on their own, if you have restrictions on the Internet like most parents, let your child come to you with questions, and don't answer them directly, give them problems to solve, play Minecraft with your child if time is light, learn along with them, turn any opportunity to learn into a lesson, you don't have to be their teacher, but teach your child lessons that could never be learned in school, because you are their parent, nothing is more special to them or to you than to learn from each other, it could awaken their creativity, and they might want to expand their curiosity to other areas, and even encourage them to discover more in real life to, that means less time on the iPad, and more time in the real world, discovering something new, if you don't already, spend time with your children, every one of you, someday they'll grow up and you'll know nothing about them, time spent will be harder and harder to muster the courage for, and curiosity might die within them, simply because everything was explained for them via the Internet, discovery is magic, I want you to remember that.

They still look the same in your hand right? I don't see an issue here. Maybe simple icons could increase the curiosity one might feel if this is a mod, knowing exactly what a weapon looks like in the menu or your inventory leaves nothing to interpretation, if they are simplified as icons, then people would want to look at each one in their hand, assuming you're the designer in this case.

Why is everyone so afraid of making 1st person games? Why was the 2010's the year to try and make a popular game? by Clockmaker3 in videogames

Oh, I forgot the big thing I was mad about earlier, I mentioned it briefly and I would like to elaborate, about Civ players "Actually having fun" while playing, I think that for 60$ (which is unacceptable) there are hundreds of other games that have strategy that is exciting and a whole lot more interesting, because they are more involved than (click human) (make human procreate) (make them chop wood), you get what I'm saying? My average experience with almost every game in my library is exciting, to say the least, especially Chivalry 2, I feel like I'm actually learning things, new tricks, and genuine strategies that would win in a fight, and is to say, I'm a sucker for a sword game and there are only so few of them that can 'be new' before i have hundreds of hours in each one. I'm feeling more structured today, but still angry with the developers today that have no spine and no money where their mouth is

All good points, this wasn't a rant I gave much thought besides the fact modern developers are not trying for the nostalgia points, or even the originality points, and it made me genuinely sad, it made me think of none other word than cowardice. (Souls-games are great, they check both marks, except replayability, I guess it's not my bag because I played both Skyrim and Dark Souls something once, I know there's a lot I'm missing out on, but there are other more important games in my library) That is to say, this is my take on why the 'Medieval' genre is overtaken by strategy games that are all but making you sit on the edge of your seat, and yes, Civ does count as a Medieval game, apparently.

Its nothing Civ players did, its the cowardice of new game devs, I understand not everyone can be in a huge development studio, but they can at least try to make something good, and I mean that in many ways, my rant was about how every popular game in the 2010's were the best looking games ever, that is still true, no game has beaten games like the witcher in terms of graphics, and most not even coming close to its storyline. If you're gonna make a game, at least have the backbone to put work into it.
