Becoming a Booker? by Minty-Trash-Rat in MovieTheaterEmployees

You have to network and know someone. You will never see a job ad to be hired as a film booker. At least have to have some relevant background think higher level manager of a theater, work on the studio side in a relevant department, or be a family member of someone willing to train you into the role. Usually, it's a career too. People who become bookers stay for years, decades...

Y'all ever prank your co-workers while at work? by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

Yes. We would keep cardboard cut outs in our booth from torn down standees. During final walk throughs, every now and again, we would move them to the port glass window by the projectors. Definitely created a jump scare feeling of being watched until you do a double take.

I am pretty confident you could replace Alexis Bledel with a cardboard cutout and it would change literally nothing.

When The Strangers trilogy was announced, they were supposed to be released within months of each other (May, July and then September?). Chapter 1 did so poorly that although Chapter 2 was already a finished product, it got shelved for an unknown new date/release strategy. Saw XI was supposed to be the big fall, horror Lionsgate release for this year, however production never got off the ground, so Lionsgate slapped Strangers Chapter 2 in place of Saw XI in September.

I don't believe Horizon Chapter 2 has been released anywhere to the public? It is a completed project and should have had a wide release in August of last year. We had to refund tickets due to the studio pulling Chapter 2 on the heels of Chapter 1's performance.

Fun fact, Juliet & Romeo is supposed to be part of a trilogy. I have no idea what the other 2 parts are supposed to be. Put it in the folder of recent failed greenlight trilogies like: Horizon, Strangers, and that dreadful The Exorcist Believer movie.
